So, while in the middle of running the peacock questline, I am headed to Neriak to pick up my all-important Koada'Dal language primer (and no, Josgar, not important because its Koada'Dal, but because that's what I have to read in order to summon the Guardian for Wrapping it Up). Right as I am about to hit the linguist I hear a very interesting comment by a citizen of Neriak... A Dark Elf by the name of Sharnar D'Zauer says "Certain... complications arose while the Ewer of Sul'Dae was being reconstructed. Some of the inhabitants that you speak with here may not be as they appear." Upon hearing this, I searched for the guy, and, sure enough, Sharnar D'Zauer sits on the level right above the bar near the Linguist and tradeskill area. In fact, he even has a faction tag (though I forgot which one -- I'm not a fan of Neriak, neat looking, but way way way too laggy). So, here are a few of the things I thought of with this revelation that the Ewer has been rebuilt...1) Maybe Malkonis is still around, even after you whoop up on him in Faydwer...2) Neriak now controls the Ewer, which is very interesting, especially considering that it was taken to Akhet Aken in order to keep Neriak from taking control of it (that is why the D'morte's were exiled).3) Though this seems far-fetched, it is not 100% unlikely that Sharnar is in league, to some extent, with Malkonis. The "D" at the beginning of both their last names signifies that they come from the same region of the Underfoot. While that just means a general area, it still seems curious that it ended up that way (maybe SOE just likes the D...)4) Also, it is interesting to ponder what type of undead the inkies may be turning into. They are not necessarily going to become vampires. I mean, the D'mortes did, but one must realize that it also turned the Dal into mummies, so it seems that it changes people not wholly based on race (Teir'Dal and Dal, in my opinion, are close enough that it is not simply bloodline that would determine transformation, as the Teir'Dal have the same blood as the Dal did, they were simply transformed due to Inny's torture...)Any other thoughts would be great, but this definately does not bode well for Norrath, the fact that the Ewer may be above ground, for, as Thalbinous warns you during the Peacock quest, if it were to be released from the Inner Sanctum of Akhet Aken, then it would pour forth its contents to all of the surface, corrupting everything...

technically, Neriak was released DURING the EoF expansion, which means that players still hadn't killed Malkonis yet from an official lore timeline point of view.

Here's the original thread about this way back when Neriak first opened up, btw.

http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=360483
