Seems to me the reason we never get anything Fixed or changed is the lack of interest from Coercers. First there is not alot of us out there. Second seems only a hand full of us actually read this stuff, now the Class, and Try to make it better. I don't know how many raids I have been on and see a coercer parsing around 4 to 500. Ok so maybe it is an alt but come on. If you took the time to lvl your alt up at least take the time to learn to play it right. The only way we can get something done about our broke spells is if we all stand together and spam the boards with Suggestions new topics idea's, on every forum and page. When they get sick of seeing nothing but Coercer topics maybe they will take notice.

If I was the dev in charge of class changes I would not read any boards.

I will warn you, though, much of the lack of attention we receive (IMO) is due to us getting them sick of seeing Coercer posts everywhere. When's the last time you saw a red name on a post in this forum? I haven't seen any in a year, maybe 2.

I'm a relatively new coercer, but I've grown to really enjoy this class. I lurk a lot more than post in the forums because I get my answers from existing posts more often than not. When I have posted a question it has never gone unanswered. Overall the community seems helpful, if a bit jaded.

Other than pitiful dps (pet excluded) I haven't yet come across a lot of "broken" things per se. More like things that could be improved or tweaked, or a need for our fellow players to learn what it is we do. Heck, I was accused of being a healer the other day. From what I understand a lot of the broken mechanics become obvious in raiding or endgame content. I'm not there yet so I can't comment on that.

I've seen a lot of new coercers running around on my server lately, though. Perhaps some new blood will get things livened up a bit.

We don't heal damage, we merely prevent that damage from ever arriving. Mez/stun/stifle/daze/root

I would hazard a guess that the OP wasn't in the beta for RoK. In the beta forums the coercers were the most vocal of all the classes - resulting in a rewrite of the special level 80 spell Puppetmaster from something that few would be in a situation to be able to cast at all into something that, while weak, is at least castable most of the time.I think the real problem is that the devs don't know how coercers are played. They look at parses and other metrics, but that doesn't tell the whole story. Playing the class is where you learn those things, and until there is dev/coder that plays a coercer as a main and raids with them they will not have good insight into the operation of the class. Without that insight, the class suffers.

As long as you get no feedback from development (aka dialog), proposals from the community is useless imo. You do not know if somebody listening and I value my time too much just for the chance somebody really reads proposals from me. Additionally, I would guess the majority is just lurking around here and only few are actually would comment on polls/feedback from us, which means it is not representative. And, polls are against forum rules.Alienor, Coercer, retired.

I even chose Unrest as my server because you and a few notable others, Vendolyn for example, were so helpful.I too absolutely love this class!!! I tried a necro and just couldn't seem to stick with her, I have not had such difficulty with my coercer. I love the challenge of solo play and in a HQ group the other day, I actually topped a DPS meter, not sure how that happened. Maybe I was in a group of low DPS classes.I have yet to really get an impression about how much people know about our class. I almost never see another one in my level range as I am adventuring around, only a handful at most. I am not sure if we are sought after for groups or not, it seems to me with our ability to root/mez and the buffs we give we would be an asset to most groups. I would be happy to post, in a non-obnoxious way, about any needed improvements for our class. I for one am here to stay and plan to take my new toon to 80.

Someone earlier said we are jaded. Yea, for us old timers we have after such a long time of complaining have become jaded. I would be willing to guess that if all the complaints and all the good recommendations were to be published, the book would be thicker then most of us are tall. Good luck and I'll keep reading. Although I am guilty of not joining the boards until some time after I started playing EQ2. I was still playing EQ1 and thought EQ2 as most of a "fun" game to play on my down time from EQ1.

I think the lack of interest in these boards is due to the fact SOE lost the driving force of their forums to EQ2FLAMES. There isn't half on these boards then there is over there. Like the recommended gear, the pointers on DPS spell rotation etc etc. Here people seem stuck in whining and complaint. I read these boards like once a month whereas I check Eq2flames at least every other day.

Also checking from Dev's they tend to think the same and let these boards lie for the classes, and only check quest/lore/zone/bug stuff.

I am really disappointed in Sony's lack of interest in developing this class seriously, but I still like my coercer as #1 power manager. Still a L80 mage doing 5-700 DPS on a raid is pathetic. I just dont think Sony really cares about it. And thus complaining, this forum has been for years, got us.... what?

So let this forum die in quietness. Amen.
