Question about appearance slot hats.

  I was wondering if I as say an assassin would be able to put a swashbucklers class hat in my appearance head slot and would be able to display its look? If any one knows for certain could you please tell me. Thanks guys.

I am fairly certain that you can only put things in your appearance slot that you could put in your equipment slot.  So the answer would be "no."  In fact, even if you were the correct class, you would still need to be the correct level to equip the item.

If you can't wear it, you can't put it in the appearance slot.
