Ok so I have got to level 27 on a PvP server with my swash. I am really loving the class so far, and of course I want to be the best that I can be so this is why I am seeking some help and knowledge from you guys.I currently have in my STR AA line 5,4,4,5 and was wondering if that was a good choice thus far. This is the way that I see it. I am on a PvP server I want to max my DPS which is why I choose bringing the first option to increase STR to 20pts. Also the last 5 was to max my crit chance. You all think this was wise? Also a question that I had was when you are putting in points in different parts of the tree how are we to know or do any of you know what an extra 20 str does? Like what does it translate to? Also on a similar point increasing defense from 5.8 to 6.8 what does that actually mean? Is it worth the AA point?I plan on doing my STR line First 5,4,4,5,2 then doing my Agi line similar maxing Walk the Plank ect. I would like to put osme into Int for the added poison damage but not sure if that is worth it.Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. I would love to know the breakdown how what 1 point actually means or 10 points.... like 10 points means 10+ dmg per CA, or whatever. Thanks again.

Most only put 4 into the stat part on the AA trees, mainly b/c towards capped level youll be already pretty deep into the diminsihed returns curve. As far as what 1 point into a stat will do for you its almost impossible to say b/c its dependant on the that returns curve ( the closer you are to a stats cap the less you get from putting more into it). Going down the rouge str tree is a decent choice since the wis line doesnt really shine til lyou can get a really really good weapon. If doing a lot of soloing i look at going down the agi line at least far enough to get 4 to 6 points into the ability that spins the mob around this makes it a lot easier to get all your flanking or back attacks off. I really would not worry about the int line imo its pretty much a worthless line still even after they tried to nerf the other lines to make int line look better it still does nothing for our dps.

Great thanks for the tips!!! I have done a ton of research on this since I first posted this topic and have come up with pretty much what you just said!!! Thanks again.I will probably respec but the only reason I put the extra couple points into STR was to get the end ability that makes spell reuse times longer. I do not remember the name of it but on a PvP server I think that is especially valuable when fighting healers and casters.... even some fighters and other rogues.

Well, if I were starting again (rolled my swash in Q1 2006, so AA was a lot harder to get then- would have had my first AA at lvl 20 :O) i'd quickly stick at least one point in Walk the Plank in agi line, then start working on Reach. PvP is often not just about having DPS, but stopping people running away from it

In rogue tree (skip rouge, it probably isn't your colour) agi line is overpoweringly good for pvp all the way down. Reach in the EOF tree is primarily picked for the end ability, which is a big deal for those who kite. If you're impatient to get the dps, skip agi after Walk the Plank and build up STR line- Torporous Strike is a big annoyance to casters and healers.

--

Rahael.

Any thoughts on the stamina line? I'm not doing pvp so I'm mostly thinking about pve and leveling. I have done the agi line and some str line and looking at sta in that it might improve my durability when soloing?

my experience thus far has been that STA+AGI+STR line fit me the best for soloing. I maxed STR and STA lines and went 4-8 on AGI. so far I can take ALOT more than when i was full STR and AGI and part way down the WIS line.

in pve if you solo alot, the STA line ups your survivability, and currently i can tank almost as well as any plate class...i will however start raiding at 80, and untill i get a mirror, I will be going back to STR/WIS/AGI. but for leveling up, STA/AGI/STR is a good way to spend 70 aa.

solo/group: 4448 str, 47482 agi, 44682 wis (1h w/ soulfire sabre) raid: 46482 str, 46482 agi, 448 sta, 41 int (dw w/ soulfire + carrotcutter) instance tank: 4448 str, 44862 sta, 44782 wis (nathsar swd + brace of deflection)my tank setup turned out to be a blessing in disguise - you can swap on the fly between freehand and roundshield when [I cannot control my vocabulary] hits the fan, trading off the avoidance from wis line for a roundshield, but the 2 end ability and max health from the sta line are always available, quite a nice setup for tanking some of the more difficult RoK content (ie. maiden's chamber)ORYou can just use one build.44682 str, 4448 agi, 44782 wis ;p

I'm currently STR 4-4-4-8, WIS 4-6-4-8-1 and am working my way down the INT line to get Feign. I solo 99% of the time. I know it's not an optimal build and of course it would be nice to have Walk the Plank but I can't figure out how to get it without giving up Coule or Feign. Or perhaps Coule (offensive skill increase) isn't worth having? My stun usually gives me enough time to get off most back attacks and if I can combine it with hideaway/knockdown before they can recover I will get them all off. How would you rate the build below for solo PvE (giving up Coule but not FD)?

STR 4-4-4-8WIS 4-4-4-8INT 6-8-4-4-1AGI 4-1

yep, just brazening and cheap shot is more than enough to cycle your backstabs each time they refresh, coule is very nice for soloing, not so much for raiding.
