There are two English spoken based EU servers. That might be a good option for you. In order to access them, after the launcher brings you to the Accept/Decline screen, in the upper right hand corner there is a drop down menu to select. It might be already on English - US, so switching to English - EU would solve this : )

I read somewhere hat Najena has a large population of Aussies/NZ, somewhat their unofficial server, this should line-up close to your play time. As the other poster mentioned the EU servers may also be a viable option. You could do like I do and play both on the EU and US servers, which will net you an additional 7 character slots. The RP community on both LDL and AB are very strong with some open RP and lots of guild/event driven RP. Their a few griefers around but much less than other MMOs on the market. The PvP is not balanced at the class level, and they are typically roving gangs always on the look out for the lone straggler making their way in the world. It is all in good fun, and gives a feeling of satisfaction when you achieve each new level. It does take a strong will at time to dust yourself off and keep going, sometimes a PVE timeout is all that is needed

I don't think the PvP will ever be "balanced", if it were we would all be the same classless, raceless thing. Hehehe. But it sure is fun if you can survive the level 10-25 gankings that take place. Ganking still takes place all over, but it evens out from 30-70, then picks back up in the Kunark zones where it is free-for-all in level restrictions.

Besides that, as a former 'carebear', I thoroughly enjoy playing on a PvP server. Doing the PvE content with the knowledge that at nearly any moment an enemy could come around the corner adds something that now seems missing on PvE servers. There are three PvP servers and they have a round-the-clock population, since the EU PvP servers were merged with the American ones. Our guild alone has nearly every time zone represented in the membership. So, feel free to check them out. You have those extra character slots for a reason.

I started just a few days before Christmas (well, came back after a brief stint with this game over the summer) and was also looking for a new server to play on.I was reading some posts and looked at the server of some of the more helpful posters. While there are great players/helpful posters from all servers here, the ones that stood out top me were from Unrest, so I made my new toon on that server.I am very happy with it. It is a good ol' PvE server but that is what I like. I still see plenty of people role-playing however. I just joined a terrific guild and have met many very helpful players. I play around 7-11pm PST since I live in California and there tend to be plenty of people on. It is an American server. Come on and join us if you haven't already chosen a new home.

If I choose the plain EQII executible, I go right to the Login screen. Either way I do not see any drop down to select server groups.
