Hi, this is probably a dumb question, but what is "raiding"? I've been hearing that term a lot on these boards, and I have no idea what it means. Is it like you go to the other side's city and try to capture it or something? Is this the intended end-game content? Thanks in advance!

A raid, in about every game, is an encounter that requires more than a single group to complete. There are pvp raids and mostly pve raids. But otherwise, raiding is pretty much described like it would be in real life.

A raid is 2-4 groups combined together. There are certain mobs and zones that are 'raid zones' that are intended to require more than one group to defeat. The mobs are denoted as 'epic' and will have a multiplier in their label (x2, x3 or x4) which indicates how many full groups of six are intended as being needed to combat the mob - at the appropriate levels. Epic mobs often have special attacks/abilities, much more health (I've seen mobs with close to 5 million so far), hit harder, etc. They also tend to drop 'fabled' quality gear that is better than what can be had from almost anywhere else in the game.
