I am not really sure that this thread belongs here but I am going to attempt to hopefully get some good advice here considering it does involve PvP. I have a 58 Fury on a blue server and I never really did crafting or anything on that toon... never really had an issue making money. At 58 I pretty much have all Adept III, MC armor, and have like 10plat to spare so on a blue server it seems a little different to me. That being said I have rolled a toon (27 Swash) on PvP and have been having a really hard time making money so that I can afford MC armor spell upgrades ect. I am a 21 Jeweler and have been trying to sell some stuff but no one seems to want it. I have been making app 4 spells for the more popular rogue classes Q side and also some jewelry cannot make the MC items yet because of the rares. I can make my own spells but seems like I do not get the rares when I harvest at all.... or enough at least to keep me upgraded. Also I have been selling rares I do not need and all the armor I find. I think I have like 1p now but does not seem to help me get my MC ect.I do bank all the time and rarely lose any money outsode of a couple silver from questing ect. How do you all make coin? Just trying to get some advice on the best way to make coin to keep my stuff upgraded so I don't get dominated every fight. Thanks for any tips.

You will find very few people gearing themselves out in anything less unless it is quested or dropped gear.

Your best bet for making money is continue harvesting, and selling the raws and rares you find. Continue leveling up your Jeweler.. you will find that you will be in demand a bit later on in the meantime you can make your own adept 3s and jewelry.

Don't expect to make too much money at the lower levels... work on the harvesting, get your jeweler leveled...the higher your harvesting level (which goes up based on adventure/tradeskill level whichever is higher) the better chance you have of getting rares

Another thing....grab all the shinies you can... there are quite a few lower level collection items that are worth a good bit of money grab them, sell them...

Good call on the shines kinda forgot about them. Thanks for the tips. I guess all I can do at this point is to keep going and trying to sell everything I can get my hands on Just a pain in the [Removed for Content] getting farmed pretty much by the people who are way better geared.

Making money on a PvP server is very easy.Just feed the greed for power of the low level twinks...They like to pay stupid amounts of coin for things.

I have leveled two crafters to their early 30's. To date I have made 6 plat between the two, not a lot, but enough. How? I got 50 gp off a level 10 Illusionist in the Sinking Sands, and rare shinies from Thundering Steppes. Sold one for 90gp. You can also be a rare market trader. Using your 1 plat, watch the rares for tier 2, check them twice a day if possible. You will see when they are running cheap, and when they are running high. Buy up all the cheap Blackened Iron Clusters, mark them up them up to close to their high point but still cheaper than everyone else. Feysteel got up to 1 plat 20 gp for the cheapest cluster on Venekor earlier this week, and the demand was high. People wanted the clusters bad, but wouldn't pay the 1+ plat cost. They were making offers in the evil traders channel for 80 gp per.

Great advice thanks alot. I will try that on the Q side. The thing I do not want to do is ruin the game for newer players though. I hate to steer people away because I am inflating prices so it seems I will have to find a balance.I do have a question though, does anyone know of a list of the rare shinies? I have no idea which ones are rare and which ones are not.

I have sold over 2000 plat worth of product on three different toons.Armorer on a PvP server makes a LOT of money.Alchemist/Provisioner/Woodworker which make consumables make even MORE money, and on a consistent basis.Crafting is so easy and dumbed down now, everyone should be one.

I recently rolled a toon to try out the new race and explore the new expansion. I did all the quests and harvested everything in sight. I tradeskilled a jeweler so I could make all my own spells. By the time I hit level 18 adventure/crafter (three days) I had 1.6 plat to my name. The bulk of this money came from harvesting ~ rare and mat sales. (Some came from shiny sales also) You can get rich from harvesting and brokering everything but most people think its boring and don't do it.....

On a side note ~ I can't believe how many people with avatars in the 70's say they are broke. Its impossible to play a high level toon and be broke when you are doing quests that pay you 20g each time for killing as little as 10 mobs.

newbies don't buy tier 2 rares, twinks do.

i find the best way to make money is to have 1 extremely well geared high level character to go out and farm dungeons and harvestables with. if u havea level 58 then its harvesting skill should be around 290 if im correct, if you take this char to low level zones and farm nodes you will get much more rares then someone harvesting at the skill level for the zone, you know what i mean? also as you get higher level the loot is better and worth more, and the junk treasures and merchant fodder are worth more to. Basicly work your high level character to death getting money for your low level character and your low level character will always be geared up, this at least is what i do, and i have always done quite well for money and gear.

Zarvonn's Tower. You can pull 2-3 plat out of there in about an hour.

This is the way I went about it: I leveled a toon without breaking the bank on them but gave them decent gear. This toon was never meant to be a main but I figured once I was able to harvest in higher tier zones I could use that coin to fund the toon that would be my main.

I couldn't agree more. And, now since GU41 they have to re-equip every tier. Life for a tradeskiller on the PvP servers hasn't been better!

in my eyes i find making money very very easy. What i do is pick a very over populated class like fury, warden and lets say wizard. i go and make adept III books in moderation. maybe 5 of them. and put em on broker. then in a couple days i got about 2-2.5 plat on broker and i made a huuuuuge profit from it. i dont think that 2-2.5 plat is that bad for speding practally nothing on the rares. thats my advice.

Good Luck

Ninjatwo
