<p>How in the heck can you manage aggro on Drusella?</p><p>I did many different group instances without real problem til I encountered her last night for first time and failed badly and had to give up..</p><p>I was told by experienced cleric that I cannot use any dots or melee attack, turn off my procs like ring, damage shield, etc. Since my individual taunt is dot so cannot use it at all.. That leaves me only AE taunt, DM and rescue to generate aggro but their recast is way too slow to maintain. Can't shield bash as well. I cannot even hold and we had to retreat.. </p><p>We re-try it with different strategy, I can swing, cast non-dot spells etc but must stop every 10 seconds. During those 10 seconds, I usually lose aggro by living only on AE taunt alone which is too slow, we failed again.. Tried few times. no luck. Her health kept going back up to full because someone accidently hit her during no-attack phase.</p><p>I suggested why not root/snare and blast from distance so aggro is no issue? Found out that she is immune to root..  Bah.. We kited her but her health kept going back up to full because we casted during no-attack phase. </p><p>Cleric told me that guardian and zerker that he grouped with had no problem with handling aggro. I told him that I only have one single AE taunt without any damage and I cannot even use individual taunt because it got dot..</p><p>My biggest problem of that is that she memwipes me too often after I built up aggro. It's too hard to regain aggro..</p><p>My question is.. Have any of you tanked and handled her successfully? How did you do that?</p><p>Thanks.</p>

<p>Well first thing...your groupmates were the ones screwing the encounter by hitting the mob when the shield was up. There is time when the shield goes up to stop all attacks.</p><p>Secondly, hate that is directly/indirectly attached to dammage and CAs is a major part of all the tank classes hate generation. Hate transfers and individual skill make a large diff from group to group as well. Who knows what the previous group makeups were, and the quality of the skills/spells/CAs being used. The comment your groupmate made about past groups was irrelevant. I've successfully tanked more mobs than the vast majority of warriors I know. It has little to do with their class (or even them individually), too many variables.</p><p>For Drusella, build hate fast and hard using DD as well as straight taunt/hate abilities.... splitpaw single taunt, group taunt, shield bash and all our other DD attacks. Make sure you and your group's graphic settings are high enough to see the shield. When the shield goes on, you all have a second or so to stop attacks. Once the shield drops, unload.....you can even drop a dot right off in between if you're brave <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY<img src=" width="15" height="15" /> Its not a difficult fight if everyone in the group is on the ball. Given some aggro transfer classes, brig's appeal for mercy, dirge's magnetic note, coercer's thoughtsnap etc..etc.. ... things will be even easier. Heck, use a god ability if you need to even. Many have straight up huge DD hits or direct hate generators.</p><p>The splitpaw taunt is quite nice here, as are any of the available hate proc items (Vikompts cloak, CoA hate cloak etc etc). Lots of available tools to help out if you need em.</p>

Here's how i manage to do it. Group setup is important, usually have a coercer and a brig in my group. I take all the dots off my hotbars and leave up shield slam, splitpaw taunt, and chastisement. When i first pull her i leave up all my buffs until the first cage that way i can generate a little aggro from the buff that gives hate when im hit. once the first cage goes up i drop the 2 buffs that proc when im hit and when i do any damage (melee or cast) when the cage goes up i wait 1-2 seconds then hit her with chastisement. During the whole fight im constantly hitting goading gesture every time it pops. soon as the shield comes down first thing i do is slam her and i go down my combat arts and spells this usually takes 15 seconds then i call stop. soon as the cage drops again rinse and repeat until shes dead. Once you get this fight down its cake. Also warn your group before you pull that she will bounce to someone else once or twice so the healers need to be ready. Most people are always complaining when something is not translated at release, i must say personally i'm happier when the spells were not translated at the beginning, so you could learn the english names first.</p><p>I thought it was maybe the harm-touch upgrade .. also don't know the name of that one *g*</p><p>However .. personally i prefer much to use just names like single-taunt and group-taunt, and also HT even if the new spell has maybe another name, but everyone knows what these spells are <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>
