View Full Version : Diety Question
As an up and coming Mystic who is going down the Weapon Mastery Line, which Dieties make sense for me to follow?I did some brief reading, and it seems like the following would be good choices:Mithanial Marr - Good melee type blessings, pet gives str/wis bonus. CLoak has nice melee based proc.Karana - Good agro dump, defensive blessing, aoe res miracle. Cloak proc boosts dps, pet is int/wis (mana pool, and spell damage on Combat Arts in crease).Tribunal - Melee type blessings, Pet is straight wis boost, the cloak is "meh" with the stun.I'm more partial to MM or Karana, just wanted to see who you guys were following. Thanks in advance.

I took Karana for the healing boost. From a sheer "it just don't seem right" perspective, yea, I don't like it at all. I'd prefer to follow the Tribunal, but I'm an old school Barbarian Mystic so go figure.Anyway, the Blessings and Miracles are largely used in raid situations, as most heroic content doesn't require anything so extreme. Pick the cloak / diety you like until you need to raid, then betray to a more "healer" friendly diety if you need to.
Cool Cool, I probably won't ever raid. (Been down that bridge, been burned numerous times). Thanks for your answer!

mmhhmmm yah, the cloak and pet is what matters imo, the blessings and stuff has some use but very marginal... so im heading towards mith marr i think (been too lazy to get that done yet... ) or maybe karana for the CA dmg... shrug.*edit*actually i think ill get the Tribunal as well, the WIS is nice for more power (we do have plenty of STR buffs already) and the stun is cool! <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY<img mce_tsrc=" />(for the melee mystic which i am...)++Xan

What about Tunare? Can you choose a different diety or are you stuck with what you selected originally?

I could choose another if I wanted, but meh. It's just not that important except in very special circumstances (usually a raid).

As a halfing mystic I would like to choose Bristlebane. I don't think it would make to much of a difference if I do, or will I be totally gimping myself? I am working on becoming a melee mystic, btw.

Whatever God you choose will have minimal impact on your gameplay. Just look into the differnt effects on Cloak/God pets and choose the one that best compliments your playstyle. Or go crazy and just pick whatever God you think is most fun.

By the time you get halfway through the Kunark questlines you will probably have half a dozen cloaks that blow away pretty much any diety cloak anyway. Miracles matter, but only on raids as a rule. Pets need to be turned into buffs and gotten rid of, or we should be given a permanent toggle to disappear them so we don't have to deal with "hide pets" from irate raid leaders. They really are a nuisance, as well as a visual and targeting problem in groups and raids.

Whatever diety you choose, you will in no way even begin to "[Removed for Content]" yourself. It just doesn't matter all that much. If you are a Mystic you really should follow Tribunal if you care about the Lore. If you really want to min/max, Tunare is best for Healers. Otherwise ... meh. Go with your own preference.

Ok, I've read this thread very carefully and have yet to make up my mind. I levelled up through EoF pretty fast and never really bothered to choose a deity (always figured I'd get around to it... but never did). I agree with most in that Blessings/Miracles shouldn't factor too highly into the decision, as they aren't used as much. Similarly, the cloak will be replaced by better drops down the road, so really the pet should be about 90% of the decision.

I'm a level 75 melee specced mystic whose playstyle is roughly:

50% solo questing in RoK (currently 58 quests deep into Fens of Nathsar)

20% duoing or trioing with a warlock and/or brigand friend

10% pickup groups like CoA

20% raiding with my guild - still working on the upper EoF raid zones

My gear is very average - not horrible, but nothing that would impress either. I'm thinking of going with Tunare or Mithaniel since I like the pet stats on both. What stats does the Tribunal pet buff?
