i say sk , have your freind spec defensivly and you spec offense get the right aa set up and if you want to go far enough you can always use the *mage spec* and put out rediculus numbers,

If you're trying to make a duo combo between just the 2 of you to do as much as possible.. SK or Bruiser is the wrong answer. There have been many many other posts on the subject, but I would say swashbuckler, fury, heck even a dirge would be better for you than either of those, imo.

Warden is good combo with pally because warden gives enough wisagi to the pally so the pally can go offensive and kill stuff fast

As above, asking "Bruiser or SK to go with a pally?" is rather like asking "Chianti or Merlot to go with a Big Mac?" There's a choice, but neither answer is a good one. If you have to choose between those two, I'd say Bruiser. Gives you some solid single-target damage to go with the pally's AE damage. But, you've still basically got two tanks trying to cover the tank/DPS/healer/CC/utility/mana-regen roles. A pally's a decent healer, and a bruiser's pretty good DPS, but neither is that good at it when they're also tanking. And you've got no useful CC (one short-term bruiser ability), and no mana-regen or out-of-combat utility at all (portals, runspeed, invis, evac). I think the real answer for a do-all duo would probably be Illusionist or Fury (or maybe Warden). I'd go Illusionist myself for the crowd control to get out of tough situations, but the extra healing (and cure spells) from the druid could be almost as good overall. Both give you solid DPS and some good buffs for the pally.

I don't know about best combo, but from personal experience I can tell you that I have duo'd pretty much the entire game from 0 to 80 with a ranger, it's been fun and exciting the whole way and we've done a lot that a duo shouldn't have been able to get away with.

Any pure dps class (predator/rogue/sorcerer) would do though for a 'seat of your pants duo', on the harder fights they go all out burning the mob down as fast as they can with no aggro worries while the pally hunkers down and concentrates on healing and stunning. The fights are fast, bloody and you're often running on the ragged edge.

A paladin is really the only tank that can hold the aggro off a dps class going totally nuts whilst keeping themselves healed, so use that I say

Wildorf

A pally friend of mine found this post and showed me because I play a ranger. Everything this guy said describes the stuff my friend and I have done. The ranger is able to bring tons of pain due to the pally's Amends without worrying about aggro. To add to that, ranger combat arts (ranged ones, that is) use very little power, so you're usually at the pally's mercy as to how long the fight can last and that's usually a long time. You've got the one-shot big-heal for emergencies, and the ranger has evac for big emergencies. Since a ranger's primary means of damage is auto-attack with a bow, you can pretty much chain-pull with few breaks. We've taken down things I'd never thought we could do. Also, with a chain-wearing DPS class, the ranger doesn't go down in 2 hits the way the squishies do if the paladin gets mez'ed or Amends gets wiped.Best part is, my wife plays a Templar, so that trio makes for some insane survivability.Go ranger and never look back. Just keep in mind the ranger doesn't really start coming into his own until about 30.

Yep, pure dps is a paladin's best friend in a duo. An illusionist or priest duo partner would allow you to take more difficult enemies, but would be slower. But they would be pretty handy in a group. If you're going to be mentored by a high level paladin, pretty much anything, probably priest is best, as the high level should blow away even pure dps classes at that level difference, even mentored.

I used to duo a ton with a Ranger, and it was awesome. My ranger buddy quit tho, sadly, and I've been duo'ing a lot with a Fury, and that's pretty nice. The Fury can put up decent numbers, and keep you alive.

My wife and I play as a pally ranger Duo. Works out great. we tear through stuff like crazy and with her AA pet line its even more added DPS and if we get in a tight spot her pet can tank till I pull aggro. Works out really well on named mobs.

Personally my best duo buddy has been a warlock...massive destruction, and propagations adds up to 4% to my procs...which is a huge bonus when you've got dreadscale greaves and a breastplate of deflection essentially doubling their proc %.

*EDIT* nevermind looks like they've nerfed it so it only affects spell proc % chances, not gear.
