So I just turned level 45 I think, and I got this new spell Shadowy Attendent.. does anybody know exactly what it does? I've never had a spell that has had as little documentation as this one. Some say it heals, does damage, wards, leaches etc.. what does it actually do?

Also, some say that it's aoe, some same it's a pbaoe.. so the closer you are to it, the better it heals. Any truth to that?

For the Mystics out there.. is it worth actually casting this thing? With all the other things I'm doing, warding, debuffing etc... is it worth the time to fire this off?

That one will do AE damage. The later versions will heal you. Think of it as a reoccuring group heal.

I've refered to it as PBAOE (point blank area of effect) because its very limited range and only heals group members that are roughly within melee range of it. So if your casters and melee'ers have spread out the pet can only possibly heal which ever ones your standing next to.I don't think it gets AE immunity and can be killed. I think I recall AE stifle's ( bubble mobs under water way back of everfrost ) at least prevent it from casting, and possibly even killing it instantly.I was thinking there was a level range where the attendant pet was a useful method of avoiding direct heals so you could focus on wards. Torpor at level 52 becomes another spell that offers actual healing without resorting to the direct heals. Any more I tend not to cast the attendant heal pet unless I'm concerned about running out of power, or just want to annoy my group members with the amount of noise that pet creates.

Like others said, it's a heal over time with a small range centered on the critter (badger or bear depending on the level).

It can be killed.

I personally use it and like it partly because of the small relative cost.

There are some very situational uses . . but they are not common. For instance, if you know that an AE stun is coming, you can pop this and it will keep healing thru the stun.Yea, I know, it's a stretch.

I assumed that it was intended. But in that case, disregard my AE damage remark.

It's still a good (self) healing spell for the power cost. If anyone else is close and gets healed too, then good for them.

Its strength is that it's a very power effecient heal. Its downside is that it's slow, and that the pet can be killed by AE.

It's a handy little spell with some achievments to boost it a bit. Oddly though, well maybe not, high level mobs seems to go right for it, the same with Spirit Companion. It is mobile though so the trick seems to be to cast it before you go into battle and then move in. That way it generally stays behind you. This doesn't always work Solo but in groups, unless I cast it in the middle of the melee, I can generally keep it till it expires.

It's never going to heal you much but it does heal evveryone in your group in the area. It can be the thin line between TPWO if you, as a Mystic, do your part to Ward your party and debuff the MOBS.

Cry havoc and let loose the badger of health!

It isn't a show stopping spell, but the spell is very much like the Mystic class, a lot of little things coming together to make something better than its parts. The spell is something you plop down if you know the tank is going to take heavy damage, it by itself isn't going to do much. If you keep up on your warding and healing and throw our the other single target HoT spell we have. (Torpor) then you can keep most tanks up under even the heaviest DPS. Remember at higher levels to stay back from the melee action as many mobs use AE melee attacks and your healing pet will be toast.

I mainly use it after a large AOE hits and I am not in the MT group. I will usually group ward, group heal and then toss this out to help top off the group.

Yeah, I use it as an extra little boost when things get hairy. Having that little HoT going can be the difference between living and dying, especially if your group has taken a lot of damage. Only one group heal, but Bearsy can help fill in the gaps.

its a cheap useful HoT that heals all your group every couple or 4 seconds, useful for when your between wards and want to top up everyone's HP without wasting mana on the stupid group heal. M1'd mine and at 46 it healed for about 165-190 per tick in not particularly good gear (at the time). cas timer's no worse than most of your heals and it benefits form the pet ae protection proc (str line) if it triggers so mine never dies to often (unless u cast it right next to the bossmob) aa enhanced it's downtime is only 15 secs more than the recast, so its a nice one to trigger pre oberon/stun and in any fights where you just need to keep recasting your main wards and [I cannot control my vocabulary] anyone thats not the ttank .

If you pop it too soon and it starts healing with the fist swipe its like prewards and increases hate. Hold off until after the pull and a few seconds to establish agro and its not likely to attract enough attention to be of any risk of a direct attack, Its just not that good of a heal to increase hate enough after that point.

As far as I can tell you get 3 Attendents 45-80 but correct me if I'm wrong!

(From my experience it constantly heals you and your group members in range till it's timer is up at which point it depops)

It does not do damage and if it does then i'd say it was bugged!

Should constantly heal in a Area of Effect (5-10m?)..

Personally I do use it alot and say its useful.

Very handy when you need a extra heal boost for your group and or if your soloing and need a heal while you cast your wards and attack..

I have found it useful only in a few places... 1) When your doggie is low on health in the middle of a fight, it saves you from having to shift targets to him. Not a big deal either way though. 2) When you get that tight little ball of DPS where all the brawlers, predators, and such are all on top of one another I just toss him in there to top everyone in my group off.

It's by no means a quality OMG HEAL ME! spell, but it has it's places. Albeit, they're few.

I have this spell on my mystic at adept 3 I am lvl 47 currently, I think it heals AE for about 150ish per tick and does 7 ticks i believe, not game breaking for sure, but very useful indeed. I use it all the tiem while soloing I pop it then reward and and drop all my CAs before have to worry about my health again, I alternate it and the sta shield bash mid fight to drop all CAs or refersh debuffs. Havent used it in groups yet hard to find soemtimes, but it does seem like a very viable group heal after the actual group heal is used.
