"The Patchwork Tapestry" (Fayfolk language quest) Help

I am trying to figure out if I am either bugged or cursed.I was helping out a guildie on a Signature quest (Eitholi, Blade of the Fae) and one quest of the line "The Blade Within the Keep" requires me to speak Fayfolk.I appear unable to speak this or even get the drop to start the quest. The language quest is called "The Patchwork Tapestry" and is started by examining a Fabric Patch.While helping the guildie one dropped and he "won" the loot but the Loot box never appeared for me. It is as if I have completed the quest(which I have not since I can not speak Fayfolk).I have tried for 4 hours to get the starter to drop with no luck using mobs from level 7 to level 60.Any ideas would be appreciated.

<p>Did you <i>ever</i> start the quest (and not finish it)? Language items were changed a few GU's ago and the same thing happened to me. As soon as I deleted the quest and the old item, the one that had something like 5/10 items collected, language items started to drop again and I finished it within an hour. I recommend deleting the quest and starting over. You might be amazed how frequently they drop now.</p>

Thank you for your replies.You may be on to something about starting before. I will check when I log on. I played this character up to 39 before I left the game in 05'. I have only started playing again this December. The quest is not listed in my journal but maybe I have some pieces in my bank since I am a pack rat.
