Epedemic Adept 3 221 disease damage / tick for 106 power 29% harder to resistPlague Master 1 211 disease damage / tick for 92 power 33% harder to resist. Is resistability tied to spell level versus opponent level?Otherwise other than soloing, the 10% increase in power vs. the 5% increase in damage I'd reather save the power for heals.I know, I know, I'm the only mystic that cares cause I have not converted this to a CA. And I'm not overly concerned at that since the change is small and I don't use this spell much other than soloing anyway. Just curious about the resistability numbers mostly.

Not at all tied to spell level.Remember Umbral Trap? Mine lands just fine on L84 mobs . . . and it's a L35 spell.

Basically, if your T7 version is Master 1, then don't upgrade to T8 Ad3. The gain is minimal, but the power cost will rise.

My single target ward, "Ethereal Aegis M1" wards 2087 for 185 power = 11.28 hp per power cost.

The T8 version, "Ancient Aegis Ad3" wards 2137 for 211 power = 10.13 hp per power cost.

So I prefer my old Master 1.

Thanks, drat I already wasted the fire emerald on Epidemic. Ancient Aegis though I'm still using the upgrade as I want the extra heal per second, despite the lower power efficiency.

lol Sonny I was wondering if I was the only one who looked at the ad3 of the ward and was thinking " Oh please tell me they didn't think that was an upgrade."

This is an interesting point, and I'm not sure what I really think about it yet. I'll point it out and you tell me.Let's say that I'm in a raid with another Shaman, Defiler or Mystic, doesn't matter. I'm using my T7 Master Ethereal Aegis, and the other Shaman is using the T8 Adept III single target - again - doesn't matter if it's Mystic or Defiler. If his Ward is on the tank, when I try to cast mine, I get the "Would not take effect" message. Basically, his T8 Ward takes precedent over my T7 Ward.Pros: Because of this, power efficiency goes up. I can't waste power putting a Ward on the tank while his is there. Coordination is a lot easier.Cons:His Ward might be sitting there with 1 HP on it and I can't replace it with a full Ward. That can be a problem with the way the RoK raid mobs hit. You definitely want full Wards on your tank.

That's interesting. When I'm raiding I'm usually in the MT group, and I let the defiler ST ward. But if it's a tough mob, I'll sometimes toss a ST ward in there to assist. I wouldn't want it to not stick.

So I might be forced to "upgrade" to T8. But to begin with I'll stick with my T7M1.

Well, it's not that it doesn't stick. It never casts at all. You get the message as soon as you try to cast, no cast time or power wasted.Yea, it's a real close call and I could argue for either it being a good thing or a bad thing.
