I am confused about how to get this spell, a search in this forum reveals a lot of info but I wasn't able to find out exactly what to do to get it. I have the RoK expansion, which includes all the expansions and adventure packs right? Apparently I can get the AppII version by doing a quest outside of the Tombs of Night zone in Nek Forest? That's the zone entrance at the waterfall in Nek Forest?I did a search on the broker and found two AppIII copies but they were over a plat (I don't have THAT much money) so I figure the AppII will suffice for now until I can solo the Bloodlines quest and make it (AppIII) myself.Any info would be appreciated.

Well, that's the price.. You better wait till you can afford better version and use app 2 for now. The spell is expensive because it has no upgrades and it is still usable at all levels. At lvl 59 I still use it and will continue all the way to 80 <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> . I think I have upgraded to Adept 3 by now if I remember right.

There is an upgrade for the spell now...it's called Horde of Bats.  Likely the reason Swarm is expensive is because the maker used a rare to craft the adept III.  Depending on server prices 1+ plat for a 50ish Adept III might not be bad.

<p>Find yourself a sage, try asking in your crafting channel(s), buy the rare yourself, and pay 10gp or so for the combine.</p><p>If you can't find someone to do the combine for around 10gp-ish then your server sucks.</p>

<p>Before you start complaining about the price tags on those take a look at the prices of the books to make those. Because of the faction you need to have to get the recipys most of the people on my server are selling just the 67 sp recipy book for 50gp to 2 pp. Those people who "Chose" to just buy the book are trying to comp that loss. So add a bit to the price of the rare and you will see why these seem to sell for so much more then others. </p>

As an aside, the spell upgrades at 53, then again at 72 or 73.
