Necromancers in PVP

Hi, I'm new to the game and I am rolling here with some of my friends on nagafen, so I'm very interested in doing a lot of PVP. I have heard wizards are great in PVP as well as assassins and furys. I tried out wizard, it was okay, but I REALLY REALLY enjoy my necromancer. All the spells are interesting and there's lots of ways to kill stuff. I like the solo power of it as well. However, I have heard they are terrible in PVP, especially after level 40 (I heard this from a 72 necromancer). If necromancers truly are bad in PVP, then I will reroll something else. Can I please have some info from high level necromancers that PVP alot? It would be appreciated.
