Most servers have a good community and a healthy population.2) any and all classes can solo decently, all the casters can solo superbly. If you like straight nukin, go for the wiz, if pets are your thing go for either summoner (necro/conjie, and if CC is your thing, go for the enchanters (coercer/illu).But as I said, basically all classes can solo ok, so just play what you find fun. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

Casters are an excellent choice<img src="/eq2/images/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" width="15" height="15" />.Necros get different pets depending on their level.  My highest level necro is 14 and I had a cool-looking spider pet.  I believe that different pets also have different functions like tank etc.  On my server Necros are VERY common.  If you like unique classes you may want to look elsewhere.  If this doesn't matter and you like good solo utility necros are great.  Warlock is another you want to consider.I chose coercer, we can charm most mobs to become our temporary pet but the twist is that they will eventually break charm and try to kill you.  To me this usually happens when I am already fighting another mob or 2, so this makes things rather exciting.  The almost infinite variety of "pets" is one thing that drew me to this class.  The fact that you almost never see them is another.  I wanted to try something unique but I have been told that this is one of the least played classes for a reason,  it is also one of the most difficult to master. Good luck and if the first class you try doesn't suit you,  just keep on trying the different class/race combos.  I am sure you will find one that suits you.

Necros get 3 different types of pet, with upgrades and new graphics for each every 14 or so levels.  The graphics for them are pretty cool.  There's a tank, scout, and mage pet.  You'll start w/ a basic tank pet, then get a mage option in your 20s I think, then the scout in your early 30s.  The tank is awesome for soloing, scout for single target dps, mage for multi target dps.My main is a level 62 necro, and she's a blast, especially if you want to be able to solo well.
