I'm just starting out on my Iksar zerker, and I got an achievement point and have no idea where to spend it. (same with character development) I want to go dps while still being able to tank, if that's not possible then probably leaning a bit more towards dps. Can anyone help me with how to spec my achievement points and which character traits to get?thanks

after you get bind wound AA in the warrior tree you may want to consider the stamina line 4-4-8 for 60% double attack. im taking it to the end, 4-4-8-8-2 for the final ability which helps with staying alive. others have suggested taking an alternate spec until you have 17 AAs so you can go straight into 4-4-8 stamina with a respec.

I understood the first couple words in that sentence, but the rest was complete jibberish to me , would you mind explaining at all?

All he means by 4-4-8 is putting 4 points into the top level of the stamina line, the one that adds to stamina, that then unlocks the next one down, put 4 into that as well, which again unlocks the skill below it, and put 8 points there (putting 8 points into this skill will increase your double attack +60%, while using a buckler), by taking it down another lvl and putting 8 points there it adds to your evasion (thus making you harder to hit and a better tank).

It is true, some people say its not worth sticking the points into stamina line untill you have the 17 points (4-4-8 build) and would be better used elsewhere, like Int line for the haste bonus.

I see, it looks like the stam line makes a lot of use of a buckler, am I to assume that I'll be using a buckler most of the time? Or is the stam line majorly for tanking? Or are the points put in the talent that uses a buckler just there to get to the next tier?

Sta line is jack of all trades, it has around same dps as DW'ing, and you only lose couple % of avoidance compared to tower shields. So it's a no-brainer since you get dps, tankability and best solo setup in one pack. There will be no reason to ever swap to tower shield or any other than buckler + 1H.

bah. STA tree is for wimps!

I grabbed the biggest 2-hander I could find, and I went...

STR: 4-4-8

INT: 4-4-8

WIS: 4-4-8

I am chewing up everything in sight. My DPS, haste, and crits are fantastic, and that's before any kind of berserking takes place.

I dunno. It's outside the box, I guess, but I aint holding some dinky buckler and relying on a 1-hander...I don't care HOW many times it double-hits. Big, Fast, Atyou.

Then your 2H must be superior to your 1H, because if they were equal, that spec would drop your dps. And by equal i don't mean they both have same DR/delay, i mean when you compare lvl72 MC 2H and 1H, those are equal in quality.

of course it's superior. that's what makes good 2-handers the bee's knees!

Except that there are no 2Hers that are even close to same level 1Hers in dps, or are you comparing different tier weapons? It looks better, but performs much worse in both tanking and dps.

Berserkers SHOULD be the 2h DPS tank; going into battle with a big bulky 2her and dealing more DPS than the other fighters (minus brawlers, because lets face it, they're pretty much beefy scouts with less DPS, no track and FD) running into a bunch of mobs, cleaving all of their heads off like in EQ1.

The range on the 2 hander is going to have a much higher top end then the 1 hander because most 2 handers have a slower attack delay thus allowing for huge crits, for example:

1 Hand: 87 - 193, 3 second delay, 90 DPS

2 hand: 87 - 560, 6 second delay, 90 DPS

Keep in mind my numbers are strictly therorectical to prove a point here, but on the Two hander your going to be doing big damage, just less hits.

It really all depends on group set ups that compliment certain weapon styles or play styles and also, Buckler spec really requires a above average weapon and lots of the right gear customized in certain ways to bring the most out in it to really notice a difference.
