OK, finally made it to KP last night at 66 and I'm starting to pick up gear with many more stat choices than I've had up till now. Egads, I'm actually forced to think and choose now -- help!

I solo a lot, and also run an instance at least once a day. So far I've been going for INT, +spell damage, +mana regen, and resists but I sure feel ignorant in my choices. I'm just not sure what I should be working toward.

Any advice?

The only things that really matter are Spell Damage and Crits. Mana regen you don't care about because you're a Coercer, and Int will come with gear.

My recommendation would be to aim for at least 600 in spell damage as that will provide a high rate of return, 900 is better if you want the same rate of return when your spell crits, or on some spells that allow for more spell damage.

Also check the mastercrafted gear, some of it's pretty useful actually.

aITEM 1611794738 -1979130055:pristine fire emerald orb/aaITEM -939249132 413809973:Pristine Imbued Tranquil Swiftcloth Pantaloons/aaITEM 203051263 227577098:Pristine Majestic Swiftcloth Cloak/aaITEM 1700564824 -825301061:Pristine Tranquil Swiftcloth Cap/aaITEM 840883996 69483979:Pristine Tranquil Swiftcloth Cuffs/aaITEM 722730940 489233771:Pristine Tranquil Swiftcloth Shawl/aaITEM -248243325 -743018276:Pristine Tranquil Swiftcloth Slippers/aaITEM -256405865 -963810240:Pristine Tranquil Swiftcloth Mitts/a

Some of those may get replaced in short order or not be upgrades depending on what you're already wearing and how much questing you're doing, but the orb and the pants can definitely last a good long while.

If you're not using a Cloak of Unrest for the reuse modifier, my opinion is that the 2% base damage increase on the Swiftcloth cloak is better than any crit or spell damage effect. Especially with how low some of our spells cap out on damage (Hemorrhage) anything that can increase the base damage dealt also allows more spell damage to be applied. So often I end up using Wand of Crystalized Plasma again too.

edit: fixed smilies

Wow, great info. You've introduced me to some considerations that were not even on my radar! Thanks!

You can acquire quiet a few pieces from completing some of the end solo quest timelines and some of the open zone heroic quests. Some of the quests required a ^^^ mob which all were soloable as a Coercer (or atleast I soloed them). Some of the items I've collected solo:

aITEM -1345669462 1175189212:Succulent Spined Cowl/a

aITEM 1031182218 -482752290:Woven Silk Underlay/a

aITEM 1945904353 -336158378:Fish Embroidered Gloves/a

aITEM -475170028 -1101577012:Nax's Boots of Immunity/a

aITEM 1407015807 -957256151:Ry'zilk's Shrunken Head/a

aITEM -771813756 -360813979:Tiny Gear Earstuds/a

aITEM -840765405 -682607737:Terrik's Moonrise Signet/a

aITEM 1255302036 -1418478178:Doom Magus Wristlet/a

aITEM -1241938401 2026751442:Tormented Bracelet of Doom/a

Slightly OT noob question about these aITEM links. I've figured out that I can paste em into the chat window and click the resulting link to see the examine window for the item. Very cool! How do you guys generate the links?

You can google: eq2 loot database. That should dring up lootdb.com as the second choice. That is where I got the item link from. just type in the item name you want to search for in the text field. Follow this link for example:

http://www.lootdb.com/eq2/item/1255302036

Will take you to the Doom Magus Wristlet page from the search result. There you also have that item code you was wondering about.

You can open the examine window of the item. Click the picture icon so the item link appears in your chat line. Then, in your chat line, hold Shift and Arrow Left to highlight the link, then Ctrl + C to copy.
