Ok, I am just wondering if it is just me or are other peeps having issues with aggro.  I have been waiting about 10-15 secs into the fight before casting and still pulling aggro.  I know a troub helps big time, but I had an illusionist in my group.  Just wanted to know what type of tanks are in your guild and if they are holding aggro good?  or is it just me? Thanks

First question is are you talking single target or a linked group?  and what class is the tank? For the most part in a linked group, where you're AE'ing like you're designed to, it's not a matter of *if*  but *when* will you pull agro from the side mobs. I find it's just a matter of being sure that when they come your DPS is such that they die before you do.  Tossing in an agro reducer here and there helps  and pick up some hate reducing proc items and adornments. I know tanks get [Removed for Content] off if they ever lose agro  but it's just a fact of life they need to get used to. The tanks in my guild have gotten to the point they know if I get agro it's because I was ready for it and knew it would work out OK.

<p>I pull on either single or groups.  Our tank is a guardian.  I don't believe too much in deaggro gear, since 1 hate = 1 damage.  Dont think 600 deaggro will help with 8-10k distortion or absolution spells.  I usually parse without a troub and TC around 3.5k on solo mobs in ROK.</p>

Well then I'd say knock the DPS down a notch or 2. Just cuz you can doesn't mean you should go hog wild 100% of the time. Keeping agro on the tank is as much your responsibilty as it is the tanks. They can only taunt so fast. Is the tanks taunts the same quality as your spells? if they only have adept 1's and you using master 1 spells they can't hope to keep up. As far as the agro reducing proc gear   every bit helps. It doesn't need to completely negate your spells damage  it just needs to keep you lower than the tank on the hate list. Also a key thing is knowing when to let loose. Very often my DPS is lower than other group members and even the tank for 1/3 to 1/2 the fight. I start with the small DoTs and thrn build up to the big stuff. Waiting 5-10 secs then the first thing you cast is Apoc that crits isn't helping matters much

<p>Not totally sure if the tanks has all adept3s/masters.  I would think so, will check tonight.  I use a g15 lcd keyboard and actually watch my dps on the display.  Sometimes I will pull aggro not being on the top 3 of the parse.  This just makes me wonder how the hell is that happening.  When the tank has a scout with hate transfer or a coercer it doesn't make sense.  I also wait about 10-15 secs before starting the fight and I also start with small dots and debuffs.  I barely use focus casting because I tend to pull aggro 80% time when I do.</p><p>Thanks for commenting to by the way <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>

Well hell,   if there's all that goin on your tank needs to learn what taunts are. As far as ACT is concerned need to be careful with that. Depending on how you have it set it could be displaying ext DPS which is your damage divided by the entire length of the fight. If your waiting 10-15 sec it's adding those in to determining your ext DPS. What you need to watch is the plain DPS  which is your damage divided by the time you are in the fight. Also keep in mind ACT only updates every few of secs so you could have a spike you don't see between updates. While it is a useful tool it does have limitations.

the hate tranfers and increase agro buff mean nothing if the tank is hitting his aoe.  Was in a grp where the guardian didnt aoe once so i had to adjust and just single target.   If yourtank is willing to work with u  have aoe and maybe try a more berzerker AA build.  Also the scout and coercer need to be aoe too for there transfers to work.  With your grp setup its possible to tweak things to where agro is workable but it'll remain your number one concern for the foreseable future.

aggro problems this tier, until your MT gets fully geared, as well as the healers, and the hate xfer, will be that avoidance is what the tanks need/want, it really reduces the amount of dps they can do, as well as any damage shields that help the tank keep and hold aggro, and in most cases slacking a little on your rotations is the only solution. It is very possible to rip aggro even with your dehate capped, going with a troub and a link I can still peel, even having a dirge, coercer, and an xfer doing 5k dps isn't enough to hold it off everyone, just need to work with it till you find the right spot, and everyone gets geared/mastered.
