Hello, I'm just wondering if Iksar (I think it is..?) is a good race for a shadowknight. Also my secon question is about weapons, One handed with shield or two handed? What one is the best to use? I'm primarily soloing

Yes its a viable choice.. the only thing that race matters for is the racial traits you get to place each 10 levels, and the good thing about this class i've found is any race is good for it. You end up doing a mix of melee & spell damage, most races are either geared towards one or the other so either way the racial skills are beneficial. Personally I like playing races with casting traits like gnome/erudite for a SK just to jack spell damage up as high as possible but thats not for everyone and iksar has its own benefits.

In regards to weapons, you should go quest in Timorous Deep no matter what and do the 10-20 solo timeline, that will give you a high damage weapon or two in the process and gear you can use that till at least 30. After that go for mastercrafted level 32 weapon, crushing woodworker weapons (baton & bo staff) are my personal favorite as theyre the cheapest on the broker usually. in this case you'll get a 2hander from the TD quest lines and a 1h crushing weapon mastercrafted at 32 so you can try both and see which style you prefer.

Ihave 9 different SK's, soon to be 10 and I like them all. My troll is my favorite though, because I like how he looks and he can breathe under water with no time limit (a trait). I have an iksar and he's ok to. Ogres get some cool racial traits also. Just go with the one that looks cool to you and has the racial traits that you want. Other than that, race doesn't matter.

As for weapons, I always go with a 1-hander and the best shield that I can get in offensive stance. I never use piercing weapons because I think our choice of piercing weapons sucks. I always have the best 1H blunt & 1H slashing weapons that I can make or buy. Some mobs are resistant to one form of weapons, but I've never found a mob resistant to both crushing and slashing. I solo 95% of the time and this is why I prefer to go sword and board with offensive stance.

The shield will give you more AC/MIT to help keep you alive

You can use your shield bash and kick stuns to disrupt the mobs. thus taking less damage from them

The INT boost from offensive stance will allow your spells to do more damage, thus killing the mob quicker

70-80% of our dam is from spells so the damage difference between a 1-hander & a 2-hander won't be missed because you'll still do decent melee damage, take less damage thanks to your shield, and more than make up for the damage difference with the extra spell damage you'll be doing in offensive stance.

Tormac i have to wonder if you have any lvl 80 sks.Im an sk and an iksar op, and im glad i took it, the 3%hp boost, the crits, the 50m pull ca, its alot of great things sk's need.As for 2h/1h when your just spamming spells, yes, your meele dmg isn't much, but once you learn how to cast just enough spells between your auto attack time. The other great advantage of 2 handers is once you get the crit aa's and crit gear, the dps scales alot better on long range 2h with big spreads of 10-200 and 20-250 then say a 2h that was 30-90,
