So far I'm not having a hard time but I'm only 67. I don't mess with healers, period. But scouts, dps casters, and other tanks don't give me a really hard time. Depends on gear and stuff of course, but overall its pretty solid.

I find soloing mosly, I'm beat in 1v1s by monks and swashy's the most. All the other classes seem pretty balanced fights basing the outcome on tactics, skill, and ability, etc.

Anarcheru - 80 bruiser

Venekor server

Bruisers are a bit better in T8 than in T7. By no means are Bruisers considered a top rate but we can hold our own against most classes even healers.

Since I've been back I've been able to beat pretty every Q class 1v1 except a Warden and a Templar. I've even beaten Swashies and Furies which I found almost impossible before. So it's not the glory days of T6 but it's definitely better than T7.

In T7 I rarely had problems with most classes except maybe some wardens. Got beat by swashies a couple times but I won more then I lost.

What I've seen in T8 is that I can beat all the same people until they manage to get their high end T8 gear. Someone pls tell me the counter to a swashie with a Nathasar Shortsword and Anaphylaxis, or Ghost or Cateroidcutter? Or any of the other combinations of high delay swords they can use? How can you counter someone who can constantly hit for more then our biggest CA without using any of their power?

I even had a d@mn berserker kill me cause he could autoattack for almost 2k. What do we get? The only similar bruiser weapon I can see in the entire expansion is the deklium cudgel which doesnt even remotely compare to the hits these swords are putting out. When I have to kite a guardian to death with range attack because hes hitting harder then me there is a seroius problem.

Even the brusier pvp weapon, which is certainly very nice, just doesnt compare to the pvp weapons the other melee classes get. Do I really need a dispel proc? Its certainly not going to help much vs other melee classes and Ive never had any problems fighting mages. I suppose it will make it even easier to fight healers...would be funny if that dispels hots and wards.

Add on to that the fact that our avoidance does absolutely nothing in pvp now. Atleast in T7 it might make that someone miss you a few times. 60% feels more like .005% when a swashie can kill me and only miss one attack (and even that I didnt dodge, he just happened to miss).

So lets add it all up for T8 endgame melee pvp: less dps boost in comparison to other melee classes + less hits avoided in pvp then before + same leather mitigation = dead brusier

On a positive note, mages dont even stand a chance against us, though thats kinda like saying you can beat up on that weak skinny kid from highschool.

You're absolutely right that T8 Brawlers' gear is cack compared to, say, Scouts'. It's always been that way though hasn't it? Can you think of even one Brawler item that has been better than what other classes could get since the bloody game launched? Me neither. That's why so many of us are still fighting barehanded. If we had the equivalent of Anaphylaxis or Ghost there'd be no STR-specced Bruisers in T8.Scouts get so much love in PvP even without their OP weapons that it's not even funny any more. The two best things we get are FD and DF - and neither is worth a [Removed for Content] in PvP.But that's the way it is so you just have to get on with it.

Somehow I think its a bigger deal this time around. In T7 it was possible to adjust and find ways to beat scouts, and most other melee classes werent a problem at all since the dps from their better weapons was negligble.

In T8 we've seen a sudden and dramatic boost in autoattack damage that multiplies the differences in weapon quality significantly. When my autoattack damage in negligible someone doing 2, 3, or even 4 times as much as me is unimportant, but when I can hit for around 600 and the oppenent hits back for 2k? My health points havent gone up enough from t7-t8 to even begin to take that kind of damage.

I think the problem is that there seems to be no reasonble cap on autoattack damage. Personally I wouldnt even ask for one of the overpowered weapons the scouts have now because I think its already to easy for me to kill a mage. What we need is for soe to tone this wacked out autoattack down.

Never been a big fan of the str line myself, losing all the weapon stats and procs plus having to give up one of my other aa trees doesnt appeal to me. I honestly dont see how it would be any better in comparison to these kinds of numbers. Do a /weapon on your fists....do they even hit for 1k? If your giving up all the bonuses of having weapons and spending all that aa it would have to be atleast as much damage as a single sword to be worth it imo, and it simply isnt.

Personally Im one of those bruisers who wishes they had nerfed the str line a little and made it weapon useable, but thats going way off topic hehe.

I think its the player that matters more then equipment. The T8 MC gear gives some haste %, and the quested items are "decent" for extra CA dmg. The MC T8 haste cloak is nice as well. After some CoA runs and such you can get some decent Legendary set gear. Player ability matters most though.

But this is just wrong. I know very well that no matter how good a illusionist or a sorcerer is he just doesnt stand a chance in hell of beating me. I also know that no matter what I do my chances of beating a swashie with decent gear and a 6s delay sword is almost nonexistant.

Classes arent balanced and from what I've seen the largest pvp imbalance in all of T8 is the dramatic and poorly balanced boost to autoattack damage.

Dude [Removed for Content] are you talking about?I am talking about Bruisers, not another class.
Player skill matters hardly at all in PvP. Picking the best class is the skill to perfect.

Maybe things are a little more balanced on Vox but no scout can really go toe to toe with me because I can pretty much three shot them with my big CAs when I get lucky on the procs. The problem is I get kited to death with Swashy reach or ranger snares. I also have some targeting issues with all the scouts. I have to agree with the poster who said this is a skill thing when it comes to scouts. It takes a little bit skill to get that target back right away and stay in CA/auto-attack range. When I lose to a scout it is generally because I screwed up and not because the scout is over powered. More upsetting to me is going Toe to Toe with a guardian or zerker and getting shredded to pieces. That is something skill cannot remedy and why I say the Bruiser is really only mid tier pvp class.
