Hi folks,

So I have been away from EQ2 for a while. I left probably half way between KoS and EoF. I have not played EoF and have just returned to play following the RoK expansion.

So what do I need to know about being a Guardian today versus two years ago?

Big question I know but a few facts to help out:

Level 68

Most CA's at Adept III or Master

Possess some fabled from T7 raiding.

I have no knowledge of achievements, deities, or anything that is new content since I left. I was an MT in T5 and T6 but those days are long gone. Figure my role in a guild is likely to not be MT (reasonable assumption given that it would take me some time to get back up to speed).

So what does my future hold? What should I be focusing on? What should I not be worried about? How is soloing different? How is grouping different? Do groups expect different things today from Guardians?

Any and all preaching welcome.

Kaene, Level 68 Guardian, Najena Server

You can probably jump to RoK and quest your way to 80. (You'll replace all your gear with RoK quest gear and clear about 100 plat)

140 AA available now - get them Read forums for suggestions on where AA should go (I went Agi, Int and Str, and Slaughtering first on other set, your mileage will vary.)

Get Marr, Tunare or Tributal as diety if good based. Go to http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page for details.

No shortage of raid tanks, but seems to be a shortage of level 80 tanks for RoK instances.

Compared to 2 years ago soloing with a guard is amazingly good - not great compared to most other classes, but much better than it was. Achievements are a part of that. That is very important since RoK is all about soloing to begin with. Solo mobs in Rok are singnificantly harder. First thing I would do is to run around all the low level (T2+) zones to pick up the AA xp for location discoveries. Then you could go to RoK and quest there, but if you want a change here are some options: The solo quest lines in Loping Planes and any KoS ones you haven't done. Be willing to mentor down to join groups in dungeons and instances to get AA xp for locations and nameds. Maybe do some HQs, and if you are guilded perhaps some guild writ raids.
