View Full Version : Sarnak Bruiser Questions

OK, be kind.... New to EQ2, came from CoH/V, WoW(very short stay) & Lately LoTRO. Did some major reading and answered a lot of questions, but I still have a few. I started a Sarnak Bruiser and I'm having some fun with him but I need to know. Now I plan on Soloing for 90-95% of the time, with an occasional group. End game raiding is not a thought for me. I am more of a casual gamer that enjoys the content and the ride to lvl cap. So this build is a solo lvling build.

1 - The AA points. From what I can figure out, the AA points go to either the Brawler or Bruiser stats. Should I be sticking with the Str line to get to Chi before I start dumping them into the Bruiser achiev. (Stamp line)? Also all of the posts show the end result i.e. 4-4-8-8-2, but do I just stick with 44442 to get to Chi then go back and add, or go to 8 first?

2 - I'm going bare fisted while going on the Str line to lvl. But currently I am at lvl13, does it make more sense to use the weapons until I get my points into Relentless Punches? It appears through testing that the weps are giving higher numbers for now. How are fists numbers calculated? Are both fists counted as one hit? I don't get 2 hits while auto attacking.

3 - Character Traits - At 8, 18, 22, anything I NEED to take?

4 - Sarnak traditions - Not sure here, but I know Fire Breath is a must (how do you pass that up???) any others that are needed? Herbal Supp seems like a no brainer for Bruisers 2% Melee crit & +5 to crushing.

5 - Lastly <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY<img src=" width="15" height="15" /> Bruiser training - Do I just pick the one that I use the most currently to lvl up to MasterII? I would prob go with the damage attacks as I only use taunts to finish up the Heroic Strike wheels. Burn Through, Whirling Blaze & 100 Hand Slap would be my first 3 choices. Correct?

Again, thanks again for the assistance, and sorry for any noobish questions

-Character Traits

- For the resistances i like to try to keep them all lvl with eachother

- For my Bruiser i went with the 2.5% increase to health all the way down

- Stats i beleive i went all STR

- AA's

- i cant remember for the life of me which ones i went down on the Brawler tab, but what i can tell you is i went with Melee Crit hits.

- Bruiser tab i went all Damage % Increase ( on the right side )

- i aslo went down the Intervene line to increase reuse speed

I went solo most of the time with my Bruiser too, they are very good at soloing. As long as you have good gear and good spells soloing heroics wont be too hard too kill. If i wanted to pay SOE more money i could get my stats online... but id rather not

73 Bruiser - Befallen

1- You probably want to go 448 STR, then 448 INT, then go back in and fill in STR with your next 8 points so it goes STR 44862 (2 points to get Chi). You need 4486 to equal the 22 points necessary to enable you to select Chi, so 4444 won't work. In fact, you probably want to put 8 points in the riposte as well, making your line up go 44882. But get Chi first. The 448 in INT gives you increased Melee crits, which is night and day difference to your overall DPS. You probably also want 8 points in the +Parry in the INT line as well. The final ability in the INT line is great up to the upper 60's, but once you hit RoK zones, it's debatable. The mobs just hit a lot harder so staying under 30% health can end up with a dead bruiser if you get unlucky with the random number generator.

2- Until you get 448 in the STR line, I suggest that you remain armed. In fact, you might want to consider putting the points into INT first and fighting armed until you get the necessary 16 aa points saved up, and then just respec and sell your weapons. Also, at low levels, your first 5 points should go into buffing your self-heal in the Bruiser AA tree.

3- No idea, sorry.

4- Again, no idea, sorry. The ones you mention sound great imho.

5- If your always 100% solo, then ya, take the biggest damage boost to your CA; try to take into account both the amount of difference between what you have currently and what the M2 gives you, and how frequently the attack can be used. For me, I always took the taunt if one was available, but I grouped a lot.

Hope this helps.
