Hi allI'm a T6 tailor returning to the game after a long vacation (left before LU 24), and I see that crafting is vastly different. I found <a rel="nofollow" href="http://eq2.eqtraders.com/articles/article_page.php?article=g91&menustr=040000000000" target="_blank">Niami'<i>s </i></a><span class="headers"><a rel="nofollow" href="http://eq2.eqtraders.com/articles/article_page.php?article=g91&menustr=040000000000" target="_blank">resource substitution chart</a> at EQ2 Traders Corner, but it primarily concerns WORTS. Can patterns, hilts, harnesses, and other armor components be used for anything, or are they just vendor fodder? Thanks,Stigma70 Shadowknight, 64 Tailor - Blackburrow</span>

They should sub for whatever their primary component was. Roots or pelts ? I didn't have a Tailor back then, so not sure which pieces used which raws as primary. And can't remember from all the millions of Tailor related subs my Carpenter made for her recipes. lol

Almost everything substitutes for something.  I'd try for the primary ingredient, those are mostly hides I think.  You'll probably have to tell the workstation to do so.  At the recipe creation window, BEFORE you start, there's a button off to the right of each component that says "change".  Anything in your inventory which could substitute for the listed ingredient will be listed there.  Choose what you want! When in doubt, all those old components will sell to vendors for their old vendor costs.

I found it was almost always more profitable to sell my old intermediates to the merchant (at their historical prices) rather than use them as raws for the new combines.  For example, you might get 5s for an old subcombine item, and it would only replace a single root that might cost only 1s.--Corgi

Thanks for the insight - I'll start comparing my subs to determine the cost difference.Stig
