I'm a high elf ranger. I am pretty new.. and playing on Nagafen.I was told at first that I should quest in TD, for t2 gear as it was better than the mastercrafted stuff..but recently I heard that the MC stuff was restatted, and is now on par.I'm having a terrible time trying to quest in TD without getting griefed to hell. if MC has been changed to be as good.. even though it may take longer to get (I actually like the idea of spending alot of time on something, makes it feel like I worked for it more) is it just as good now as TD gear? or should I suck it up and die 10000 more times?

If I remember correctly, which may not be the case, Tailors and Armorers had their recipes redone for MC. So I believe all of the armor types have been updated to be at least as good as the TD armor - except in the realm of resists. MC armor still has pathetic resists compared to the 100+ you see on TD quest armor. I know for a fact that leather and chain have been updated because I have recently made some of each. I would assume plate and cloth were done also (they said it was) but I haven't made any to verify it.

However, none of the weapons or jewelry have been updated yet so you may want to do some quests for those items over there.

PS: I would never refer to being killed in TD as a good character greifing EVER, even if they killed you the instant your immunity was up after rezzing. You are a good aligned character in essentially an evil starting area. They are SUPPOSE to kill you, you are after all invading their home terf. I am in the same boat, recently made a kerran ranger on Venekor. But I expected to be repeatedly and mercilessly slaughtered when I landed in TD.

I know it pretty much sucks that the new zone has loot 100x better than any of the other starting zones and that is was designed as an evil starting area, but that's SOE's brilliant game designing at work...

I know it pretty much sucks that the new zone has loot 100x better than any of the other starting zones and that is was designed as an evil starting area, but that's SOE's brilliant game designing at work...I do understand what you mean. I asked someone last night, why there wasn't a good zone with equal gear.. it doesn't make sense why you would give one side such an advantage. I guess, the best thing to do is do as many as I can. about what level does TD gear stop?I mean I understand getting ganked. but, for example last night.the same group of players, stood on the griffon tower in mok rent, waiting for people to fly in. They killed me a good 10 times before I just gave up. I know its their territory, but thats bad design on SOE's part. Why would you give one side such a great advantage? What would u do in my shoes?

I'm sure in time they will balance it out and you will see a new Good starting area with equal or better rewards in a future LU. (possibly another race as well)

If I were in your shoes, I'd start takin names... payback is a __________!

This is an outrage, i want screenshots !!!

As to the original point, i personally would do TD quest for gear. You will out level the MC fast enough, and your resources can be spent better else where. Also your getting aa's on the TD quests, which makes them worth doing anyway.

true.. but gotta be able to at least get the quests to do them right?I was in a group last night.. thinking that would help.it was just a mok rent blood fest.. if I was wanting to pvp last night, it would have been a fun night, because there was plenty of it going on.

The end level TD jewelry and waist items are better than many Tier 3 equivalents. Note, that's Tier 3, not Tier 2. I did ~80 quests in TD on a new (good aligned) toon and haven't regretted it.
