My wizzie is currently 75 and spends most of the time solo/duo. Once I hit 76 I hope to do CoA, but really in no hurry (already been there a thousand times between my other toons). Most of the mobs I fight are yellow con, Im wondering what seems to be the best bang for the buck in my situation...+disruption, or +50-60 damage, or +1-2 spell crits....Thanks

I'd go for the others instead.

I just hit 75 last night and did COA for the first time. My party consisted of 80 monk, 77 pally, 80 Temp, 80 Fury, 80 Necro and Myself.

With just Adept III's and Al'Kabor gear/WOCP & specifically 5pts in Rending Iicles, Ice Nova, (4) Surging Tempest and the rest in Shielding EOF. I didn't hear a resists hardly at all. I think one of the undead priest guys who was yellow to me was immune? to stuns but as long as I was behind the mob I got zero resists. The last guy (80?) was orange but every spell stuck.

On occasion I popped in some Numbing Cold action before I potentially grabbed aggro and it stuck every time. I don't think you need +disruption if you're decked a mix of T7/T8 legendary and A3's with 115+AA's.

I'm no expert about the other classes, perhaps one of the others had some seriuos debuffs that was helping me out, but was max distance with spellreach and behind/flanking the mobs almost every time.

For the record, KOS is Agi 4/5/8/8/2 Str 4/4/8/8/2 Sta 4/4/8 and + heals adorns where applicable to up the magi's shielding even further and proudly sporting 300pt & 400pt ward proccing items in the secondaries since I solo-duo most of the time as well.

Now, the pally was reporting problems hitting the mobs, but maybe those mobs in COA have insane divine resists but I was laying the smack down the whole run. I will say when the group tried the (82?) in sebliss on the way in THAT guy gave me the Resist Finger on half my spells.

Oh yeah, sometimes when I was at max range half around a corner or at a different elevation than the others I didn't get the famous DOT'd from the mobs in COA. Other times I outright resisted it and heard the "bing" so being far away may/may not have some stealth advantages I'm not sure yet. Maybe it moved out of sight, PBAOE the party members, then came back in sight of me and that's why I didn't get DOT'd.

Hmmm, not sure. I know one of the 'cookie cutter' Pally specs now days is the wisdom line. One of the AAs in that line give the whole group + to their casting/attacks, including disruption (something like +35sh). All my spells are currently adept III, but I get a ton of resists on anything over 2 levels higher than me. I know if I have a debuffer (conji with pet, etc) or a class that buffs me (ie, pally) then the +damage or +crits is the way to go, just not sure how common it is to have these buffs in PUGs.While Im on it, anyone know what parses better, +crits or +50-60pts? I think right now my crits are at about 20%....no idea how many +damage I have at the moment....Thankyou

+Disruption is useful, but +Crits/Spell power is going to wind up being your bread and butter, even as a solo'ing wizard.

Thus far, I've also been keeping track of DPS parses, first with +Spell Power as a focus (I was hovering at about 1100 with 22 Spell Crit) and then focusing on Crits. Crits is winning out by far.

If you are concerned about resists just put 5 points into rending icicles or ice spears and cast that first, then almost everythign else will land without a resist. If yuu are concerned about soloing, well the fact they made it impossible to kill almsot every ^^^ named solo means you dont have to really worry about root sticking. If you wanted to up a skill do subjagation, but for grouping/duo just go proc/crit/spell damage.
