Well, I found Gogas in Nek forest like the quest says, but no update when I talk with him. He tells me to leave him alone. Is there something I'm missing?

I had the same problem. I think he broke when Kunark was released. I just completed the empowered ghoulbane quest and got it over with instead.

Yeah he's borked, broke, screwed, etc etc. I have done Ghoulbane Empowered, and also completed Mistmoore Sheild.

My friend got this quest as well. I know she completed Restoring Ghoulbane a long time ago, and probably sold the sword to a vender. Is having the sword a requirement? Can she buy the sword back or is she stuck with this quest.

no. You don't actually need the sword or necklace (that Gogos would have given you) to fight the final boss. You just need to complete one or the other to update the quest so you can finally summon and kill him.

But I did finished the Ghoulbane quest, but the guy still does not speak to me.So what is the deal? Exactly what quest do I need to complete before I can progress here?

I did complete the Ghoulbane HQ but I sold the sword when I was poor. So, when I got to the quest step all I was offered was the Gogas Afadin quest. Gogas doesn't like to speak to anyone so I too was stuck. So, I deleted the Gogas quest, went to Nek docks and bought a Ghoulbane sword from the Shady Swashbuckler . I then went back to Loping Plains and tried speaking to Amaras (don't think this has any impact) then spoke to Hack again and he gave me the Ghoulbane Empowered quest. That updated okay via Toranim in North Qeynos (Priest temple). Before that I tried getting someone else who had the Empowered Ghoulbane quest to share it with me. It shred okay but Toranim is as quiet as Gogas in that situation.I believe you must have done the Ghoulbane HQ and have the Ghoulbane sword either on you or maybe in an inventory that works (maybe home storage or bank or both - dunno as I had it on me). That should work for people that have done the Restoring Ghoulbane HQ but for others I believe the Gogas quest is truly bugged. We have players petitioning now as they cannot progress the HQ it's needed for.

After completing the Ghoulbane Empowered quest, I was offered the Gogas Afadin quest from Hack afterwards. Still won't speak with me.

OK, I just finished this quest today. I had not done ghoulbane. I got the quest for Gogas Afadin out of order. (in that I wasn't on symbol of the flesh). When I got to the point, Havras wouldnt talk to me and Gorgas wouldn't talk to me. A petition response said I had to do Blackwater Mask. Which I did and Havras still wouldnt talk to me, I deleted GA subquest and spoke to Havras again and that dinged my main Symbol in the Flesh quest and re-opened GA and I finished without troubles.

It's kinda harsh though. Blackwater Mask is in a raid zone and will stop alot of people from advancing easily.

I finished that quest yesterday with no problems. However i didn't had Ghoulbane, so after all i understand that quest should normally only be done if you do the Crested Mistmore HQ and don't have Ghoulbane.

I also haven't finished Blackwater Mask, i only have the quest open in my Journal.

I did not test to see if deleting the GA subquest PRIOR to doing Blackwater would have allowed me to continue doing the HQ. SInce the GM said I hadda do BW, I didn't want to take a chance of deleting it early and mess it up. Since I DID eventually end up ahving to delte the quest, it makes me wodner if I could have deleted right then and gotten my advance without doing a raid quest first!
