Hey all , So in my Quest for more knowledge about the game I come to the mount question. At what level are you able to get a mount? Also , from various search posts i have seen topics about all different kinds of mounts but no-one really ever mentions levels you have to be.

So if anyone can give me some mount info that would be great , thank you!

I dont believe there is a level limit, just if you have the money, you can get it, THey arent cheap though, so.

Mounts are available by tiers,There are some you can buy outright, there are some you only can get when you are in a guild and that guild has a certain lvl and some are less expensive if you pay status points...in SQ go to the stable master he is located in the building between the Antonia and NQ gates; in Faydark ( even though I thing a Fae on a mount looks ridiculous I call them UFOs) it is the guy next to the horses on green knoll. He will tell you all you need to know. Carpets can be had at lvl 48 after a nice quest and Wargs as early as 60 after a quest in looping plains and about 5+ plat.J.C.Edit: you also can buy a carpet outright in the mage tower in SQ but ...it would cost a hughe amount of plat..I don't recall what it was but the number 60+ somehow sticks in my head

There is no level limit for the purchaser. Some mounts, however, require that you be guilded and that the guild be a certain level. Others require you to complete a quest first, like the wargs (big drooling dog things), and that quest has a minimum level. Not sure about the rhinos, as they're new.Quite a few of the horses are available to unguilded people, but they cost more. Guild horses are purchased with money and status points, which you gain when you complete writs and heritage quests, and therefore cost about half as much in coin. The cheapest horses cost something on the order of 2 or 3 plat, and only have a small runspeed boost. My advice is, don't worry about it. Mounts aren't necessary, ever. They can be nice enough, but a SoW totem is cheaper and works both indoors and out.

There are no lvl requirements other than guild lvl requirements for mounts. However the guild lvl requirement ones are more luxurious and better, while a large amount of the horses you can just buy with money and status and sometimes just money.

For the rhinos on the other hand, I think the sarnaks look weird riding one, I mean a ratonga looks way better on a rhino imo

Thanks for the great info in this thread. I was shocked when I saw a level 21 toon with a mount. I assume they are an alt of a fairly wealthy main character. Where does a Sarnak look for a stable master? What city is most convienent? Not that I will be obtaining a mount anytime soon .And sorry to be so dense, but what is an SoW totem? I am not familiar with that acronym.

Shadowknights (and their good counterparts) get a mount at level 20, I believe. It's part of their class. So you may have seen one of those.

But yeah, there are people who twink out their alts if they're able to.

And SoW = Spirit of the Wolf. Increases your run speed. The names of the totems change as you get higher in levels. Go to the broker and search under "totem" and you'll see all the ones available to you at the different levels.

I cannot remember if that was the class I saw or not, I will look more closely if I see him/her again. Spirit of the Wolf: that also sounds good. I will search the broker. I have a racial ability as a Sarnak, hunter's fury or something like that, that is helpful along with my sprint spell and a blink spell if I get in a pinch.

At level 20, Paladins get Holy Steed and Shadowknights get Unholy Steed, which is a mount with a 10% run speed increase. It can be purchased from the class trainer for 14s.

The Gorowyn stable master is in the cave between the docks and the main city near the cave opening to the docks. For most stable masters, you have to be a resident of the city to buy them.
