Soloing Tenebrous Tangle last night: it wasn't pretty

<p>I was 59.5 and feeling a little bored out in Pillars of Flame last night, so I decided to go check out TT.  I got my backside handed to me, repeatedly.  <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p>This isn't a bad thing... challenge is good and I think I'll figure out some tactics for the mob AI differences via trial and error -- I'm learning to love Daydream.  The unexpected thing is how much more often charm, root and mez break now -- they rarely broke early in DoF on level 56-61 mobs (including heroics), but they break a lot more often (especially root!) on KoS level 56-59 mobs (no heroics).  </p><p>I have Master 1 mez (52)/ root (51)/ charm (51) spells. I also have M1 Ravaged Psyche (50) and I use it <i>every</i> fight.  Coercer AAs: 5 points in the Charm AA, max points in all the reactive AAs, most of the Thought Snap line.  Enchanter AAs: 4-4-8-6-2 AGI and 4-4-4-8 WIS.  All of my casting skills (except ministration) are maxed for level.  My gear is ok, if a bit under-level.</p><p>So why do my control spells work so differently in KoS?  And how can I improve em?</p><p>thanks!Firebuck</p>

<p>eh, well I have a partial answer to this.  I had the previous rank of Root slotted in my hotbar by mistake.  The description says decreased effectiveness for mobs over 53... that was certainly true in KoS.  No idea why I didn't see the problem in DoF, however.</p><p>/bonk self</p>

<p>If you have the master of all those controll spells you mentioned other than the root you siad was earlier version then I don'tsee why it would break so often. Try charming you one of the Froglok Wizards on that lower island below the waterfalls you hop off of. Set that sucker to <b>/pet ranged</b> and let him help you nuke. Another favorite pet of mine there was the Squalburst Drake mobs over on the Breeding Grounds island.</p>

<p>I'm going to emphasize what the previous poster said.  Charm the pondering froglok wizards in Hidden Refuge.  With a mastered charm those little froggies will be tearing up mobs right and left.  I've seen my froggy one-shot a droag sentry with a critted nuke.</p>

Thanks for the advice.  Once I fixed my "wrong root" problem, I was able to go back and solo fairly normally using the froggy wizard pet.
