I was just watching a video of the fight with Venril and i saw something that made me go huh?Do you guys remember that book in Mortael's tent in Maj'Dul that told of an old elven city called Tal'Thex that held like crazy magic Well during Venril's fight he yells "Guardian's of Tal'Thex protect your new master!"and then you see in the video "The Elven constructs have been disabled! How is such a thing possible!"So what exactly IS this Tal'Thex place?have we overlooked it's importance?and how did Venril come to command constructs from there?

I don't think it's possible for us to overlook something that hasn't been introduced to us yet. Mor'Tael in Maj'dul is the first and only mention of this place.

The fortress of Tal'Thex is a place that is rarely spoken of and even when the words are heard it is often within the clandestine mage towers of Norrath. There are some Koada'Dal that know more about the hidden fortress, but they are few and far between and not easily persuaded to speak of such Elddar secrets. Such tight lips can only be pried open with fugitive trinkets.

The living statues that we see throughout the Age of Destiny, such as the titanic sentries of New Tunaria, are constructs created through ancient Elddar techniques. Those arcane methods were first developed to create the massive Guardians of Tal'Thex. Over the ages, the knowledge used to create the giant constructs has made its way into the libraries of some of the greater mages and scholars of Norrath. The library of Kaesora may have been the home to one of those ancient scrolls. Venril or his minions must have found a way to reproduce the Elddar rituals that gave life to such impressive constructs.

Titanic constructs are not the only present day gifts that are associated with Tal'Thex. There are a few others making their way around Norrath. Unfortunately, these other secrets were never meant to escape the vaults of Tal'Thex.

Don't try to persuade me to speak of it, Tunare placed a charm on me that prevents me from uttering the words of such a place.

Ok, so I did some digging b/c I wanted to know more about Tal'Thex, and all I could find was this story, probably the one noted above, which was taken from a book found in the Desert of Ro. It tells a story of one of the sculptors of these great constructs of the arcane, these Guardians of Tal'Thex, and mentions a place called the Pagoda of Tal'Thex where "many evil artifacts were kept" and where the "Dal hid evil from evil". I also found mention of Tal'Thex in the logs of a quest from EQoA, this quest speaks of a Lord Valkenier who was once the ruler of Tal'Thex, but sadly I couldn't find much more detail about him, or the city itself. The name of this city/fortress especially caught my eye b/c, as we all know, Thex is the name of the Elvin Royal family going all the way back when ALL Elvin races were still one, and were simply the Dal, or Elddar Elves. I couldn't come up with much about the city itself, except to find out that in Elddar Elvish (which is the ancient Elvish language we find names such as Koada'dal, Tier'dal, Ayr'dal, Takish'hiz etc, come from) Tal means Evil. So, essentially Tal'Thex could be roughly translated as "Evil Thex", or "Thexian Evil", or maybe, depending on the structure of the written and spoken language (which we don't know) it could mean "Evil of the Thex's".

So what we should do is get full groups of fabled gear level 80s, and obliterate every zone in kunark and then go around and click on every rock, every brick, every blade of grass. Eventually, the secret of making golems will be shown to us, which will be sold on the broker for 400 plat. Someone will buy it, and be able to make a few golems for themselves that can be controlled as pets. Voila, now players have the option to control a squad of powerful pets.
