Wife and I are returning to EQ2 and decided to go evil this time (mwa ha ha ha) and as we always go Healer/Tank duo's we choose SK/Defiler as they are both disease based and heard good things.

Question is it looks like both these classes are a bit low on DPS, so as the Defiler, should I go more DPS with my AA's and gear? Or should I spec healing, and let her go more DPS on the SK?

I 'd say that the SK is pretty solid DPS, though in order for to do so one needs a good 2-hander etc. As for both classes, they are not burst DPS, which is apparent from the load of DoT's that both classes have. The thing is, Defiler DPS blows, but one makes up for it for the plethora of debuffs and wards. If you plan on just duo'ing I would suggest going for the following as the Defiler:AGI 4-4-8-6-2WIS 4-4-6-8-2INT 4-4-8This setup leaves you with 5 points i believe to spend wherever, it won't matter much at this point. With this you'll essentially have 100% melee crit, about 12-ish % to heal crits and tribal rage, which is basically a 'zerker proc which procs a 35% double attack chance along with some haste. Int line gives you I believe 18% spell crit, and the Wisdom line gives you Ritual, increased casting skills, and 12% reuse speed on all spells. The end ability, Ritual of Alacrity, I find is immensely useful. Casting it on a group member gives em 33% increase to recovery/reuse/casting speed, which will complement the SK very well. Granted the Agility line isn't too good for a Defiler compared to a Mystic who can actually turn their spells into CA's using their subclass AA's, it's not too bad. Grab a decent 2 hander and make sure you get used to allowing your auto-attack to kick in between warding/debuffing etc. For the Defiler Sub-Class tree I would suggest making sure you spec for decaying getting the end ability Cannibalize, and either going down the Prevention line for Soul Ward or Cursing for Curseweaving. If you go down Curseweaving, make sure you stay the hell away from placing points into the fear, it is a load of [Removed for Content].I hope this helps. It is what I think would be a solid build for a duo/group oriented Defiler. It would be a tad different if you guys were to be raiding, but I wasn't guessing that was the case from what I read.
