<p>Concept art shows him blue again. We know he was previously a blue (sky) dragon before becoming the green undead/poison/disease/whatever chunk missing from his neck green meanie from Sebilis of old.</p><p>What happened? How did he return to normal? At what point did the Ring of Scale allow him back to Veeshan's Peak?</p>

<p>But that's just concept art...</p><p>Anyways. If I remember back to Beta correctly, the developers pointed out that Trakanon forced his way into the leadership of the Ring of Scale. Complete hostile takeover in every sense of the word. Some kind of circumstance allowed him to pursuade that he should be the leader of the RoS over Phara Dar.</p><p>I don't know anything more about it.</p>

Buddy of mine has gone into his instance, apparently you have to clear Veeshan's Peak to get to the instance, so that does lend to the possibility of a takeover by Trakanon. He is blue in gameplay.

Maybe Trak found a way to restore life in himself, or someone else like Kerafyrm, or Vesshan herself gave him his life back as a reward for something? Or maybe this isn't even the Trakanon we know from back in the day. Maybe this is Trakanon Jr., the son of the original Trakanon and some, as of yet, unnamed dragoness. I know the ideas are pretty far-fetched, but lets face it, we have a formerly undead dragon who has seemingly come back to lifeWe all know that 500 years ago (give or take), Trakanon was most definitely a green undead dragon of the disease and poison variety who was missing chunks of flesh from certain areas of his body. And now we find that he has reverted to his original elemental type and color, and seems to be alive and healthy (although I haven't personally seen him, just going off what other people are saying). Whatever caused it, it is certainly amazing and I am looking forward to finding out the cause

I also take it that no one has killed him due to the DEVs saying that it will require Epics to accomplish this feat...

<p>Well this is what the big guy looks like these days, so definately not very undead looking.</p><p><img src="http://www.xanadu-community.com/mb_msg_view_image.php?msgid=152914&nr=2" alt="" width="656" height="409" border="0" /></p><p>And no, still unkilled worldwide, has some of the most brutal abilities i have ever seen on a target in this game (finally a challenge in RoK! after the cakewalk of Veeshan's Peak its nice to have something keep us ocupied). Will be interested to see if there are any special abilities on epics that make the fight a bit less insane.</p>
...Is anyone else really disappointed with that picture?Maybe he looks better with his wings spread out.

He looks quite a bit like he used to, only he's not dead and rotting anymore

Dead and rotting. To see him actually alive and in one piece is completely out of character.

<span style="color: #00cc00;">Either that or Lucan and Venril gave him the Scying address for their personal groomers. <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY<img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />" /> </span>

Both Venril and Trakanon look like they've spent the last 500 years bulking up and getting plastic surgery.

<p>I forget some of the original lore, didn't it say somewhere that Trakanon made himself undead somehow?I figure if a god can make an Avatar out of someone, they can probably restore life to the undead. Although I don't know why it would be Veeshan, I sort of thought she deposited her brood, marked Norrath, and took off never to return.</p>

Trakanon was probably revived back to life. Dragons did have enough power to fully revive anyone back to life, just like what the claws of veeshan used to do in the halls of testing

Being brought back to life for the sake of being killed by adventurers again and again was the curse that Dozekar The Cursed recieved for fathering Kerafyrm.

It was revealed that Dozekar is his father.

<cite>Cusashorn wrote:</cite><blockquote>It was revealed that Dozekar is his father.</blockquote>wow really? when was this? ive been gone for about 2 years now and havent been keeping up with the lore. or are you getting this because of the dumb rumor i accidently started when my brother told me that a dragon said dozekar was kerafyrm's father?because that whole "dozekar the cursed is kerafyrms father" thing started after my brothers drunk night in ToV where he thought he read a mob saying that.

2 Years? This was revealed more than 6 years ago. I think the Crusaders in Skyshrine mention it. I remember hearing from an NPC somewhere that Dozekar the Cursed is named so because he is cursed to spend eternity to be killed off by the 2nd Generation and then ressurected by draconic mages to repeat the process. He was cursed as a punishment for being Kerafyrm's father.

I had spoken to EVERY NPC in skyshrine, ww, tov, vp, and dn, since i had always been fascinated with dragon lore in eq. and never once had i personally read a text where any npc pointed out that dozekar is kerafyrms father, not even cryptically. and the only thing the crusaders mention is the story behind the imprisonment of kerafyrm and his 4 ancients.actually other then lendiniara no one even said a word about dozekar. and all she says is that hes holding onto some tears for a series of quests.

More info on Trakanon in, apparently his revival has something to do with an artifact known as the Stone of Chelsith. Sorry, I don't have a source, you'll have to trust me.

Not that it counts for much officially, but I thought I'd point out that the EQRPG lore also (indirectly) confirms Dozekar's role as Kerafyrm's father.

Just as a quick response to those doubting how impressive he looks in that screenshot btw, that was only taken on high performance, and its extremely distant. in actual fact just one of his front claws is roughly the same size as a Dark Elf.
