Account to account. At first I was told it was denied - not why - I asked why, and I still have not gotten an answer. Now, if I try (try, try again & again), I get the following:
type Exception report

message

description The server encountered an internal error () that prevented it from fulfilling this request.

exception

javax.servlet.ServletException com.sony.soe.web.mvc.BaseCmdController.go(BaseCmdC ontroller.java:173) org.infohazard.maverick.flow.ThrowawayControllerAd apter.go(ThrowawayControllerAdapter.java:54) org.infohazard.maverick.flow.CommandBase.go(Comman dBase.java:66) org.infohazard.maverick.Dispatcher.service(Dispatc her.java:346) javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet .java:810)

root cause

javax.servlet.ServletException com.sony.soe.platform.charactertransfers.control.T ransferOrderCmd.go(TransferOrderCmd.java:173) com.sony.soe.web.mvc.BaseCmdController.go(BaseCmdC ontroller.java:171) org.infohazard.maverick.flow.ThrowawayControllerAd apter.go(ThrowawayControllerAdapter.java:54) org.infohazard.maverick.flow.CommandBase.go(Comman dBase.java:66) org.infohazard.maverick.Dispatcher.service(Dispatc her.java:346) javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet .java:810)

root cause

java.lang.NullPointerException com.sony.soe.platform.charactertransfers.objects.T ransferContainer.getFreshCharacterSummaries(Transf erContainer.java:81) com.sony.soe.platform.charactertransfers.control.a ction.SubmitTransAction.go(SubmitTransAction.java: 59) com.sony.soe.platform.charactertransfers.control.T ransferOrderCmd.go(TransferOrderCmd.java:13 com.sony.soe.web.mvc.BaseCmdController.go(BaseCmdC ontroller.java:171) org.infohazard.maverick.flow.ThrowawayControllerAd apter.go(ThrowawayControllerAdapter.java:54) org.infohazard.maverick.flow.CommandBase.go(Comman dBase.java:66) org.infohazard.maverick.Dispatcher.service(Dispatc her.java:346) javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet .java:810)

note The full stack trace of the root cause is available in the Apache Tomcat/5.0.25 logs.
Apparently the Transfer Service is NOT up?

Things to note when making a character transfer:No gear is damaged.Nothing in the shared bank slots, not even strong boxes. Nothing on the broker, no sales creates and no coin.Make sure there is no Xp debt as well.If any one of these are present there will be an error when trying to transfer.

I will check all those. It would be nice if the instructions stated as such, they are a tad lacking. So my other toons have to suffer through carting stuff from the shared bank too? ugh

Unfortunatly i dont think the character transfer pages have been updated in quite some time therefore some things seem to be left out

Ok, nothing in the bank.Nothing in the house.Nothing on the broker. No XP debt, gear all good.Nothing in the mail box (unless Gardy sent out yet another @$%%@ card)No buffs applied, no cash on hand, though he is holding the last of his no trade/attuned things in the hope he will not loose those.Email address match. Now I am getting that the account validation failed.I am paying MORE with yet another account so why is this so hard?

Went out and caught me a CSR in live chat, had to stalk 'em a bit, but did get another reason why it was not working.Ghost MailSo, I went in game, posted my trouble ticket last night and this morning I have an answer! The mailbox is cleaned of ghost stuff, now, once the servers come back up, I will ditch the Gardy mail and try again.Cross your fingers!

I am still getting this message:

Your account validation failed. Please contact our Customer Service Department if you have any questions.

Cannot get into mailboxes as they are down anyway, what is causing the block to the transfer?

Still poking at SOE in every crevice I can find...

Apparently support by email is down - internal errors...

Got bounced by chat, but I will try them again tomorrow...

Tickets are still being ignored.

Come on SOE (or whomever you are paying to support us), I can understand if you have no idea why I am having this issue and are at least telling me that you are scratching various body parts in confusion, but to not even acknowledge that there is a ticket? The Support Center I work for would have been fired by it's client for such behavior. Our SLA's are pretty darn tough and we meet, then exceed, them nicely. Even while supporting not only our software, and our client's software, and the stuff they add to the laptops (that we also support), in addition to whatever popular 3rd party applications are available.

Growls in frustration

I am not so much annoyed that there is an issue, as I am annoyed that after a week, there is not a response to the main issue. Granted they cleaned my ghost mail out fast enough... Perhaps I will get in game and petition from there?

Sighs

At this stage, you might want to see if there's any escalation procedure with SOE's technical support - most professional tech supports do.

That would be lovely if I could get them to even acknowledge that they are there to begin with.Other than the auto-mail stating a ticket was created, the only one adding anything to any of them is me.Today I will try hunting down a CSR through chat.

Finally!Got moved who needed moving so far.Ended up that I went back to all the accounts, redid all the information (made sure it matched), and tried again.Thing to note on my Account to Account transfer:Stuff in the house stayedHouse stayedGuild attachments stayedAll the stuff I was holding to make sure it did not get lost stayed.I cannot say about the broker or bank as I did make sure that stuff was moved.Good Luck with your own moves.
