Cant download updates on Windows Vista

I'm running the game with WinXP compatibility and as administratorWhen the launchpad comes up it scans for files and then says "Download Cancelled"I click on download, it scans again and says the same thing "Download Cancelled"I can't play the game because the button still says updating and theres nothing I can click on to playAnyone know what I can do?

<p>I have had this issue few times, both in XP and Vista. The problem that one of the files got corrupted and patcher cannot figure out what to do with it and cancels download.  Here is what I did to resolve it:</p><ul><li>Find the latest log file in your Everquest directory. This file will always be the latest ".log" file, so sort the folder by Date descending to quickly get to it.</li><li>Open the file in Notepad (or whatever text editor you use/like).</li><li>Start at the end of the file and scroll to beginning until you find something that tells you "...stopping update..." or similar. Somewhere near that line you will see also the file name that is failed, corrupted something like that.</li><li>Find that file. It may be anywhere in your EQ folder or any of its subfolders. Mine was one of keyboard layout files for example.</li><li>Delete the file (move it somewhere else or rename it if you prefer)</li><li>Restart the launcher</li></ul><p>This has always fixed my issues and should fix yours as well.
