View Full Version : New Items on Kunark Merchants?

From yesterday's GU41...

Some merchants in Kunark have discovered new equipment, which they will guardedly sell only to their most trusted allies.

Does anyone know specifically what this means? Is this refering to the city merchants that already sold Legendary gear once you had high enough faction? Perhaps they have added new (and better) items? Perhaps, better options for leather fighter classes (/crosses fingers).

I haven't had a chance to go back to Terens Grasp and check out the vendor there to see if there are new items for sale there. Can anyone confirm/deny or simply clarify what this line in the patch notes might mean? Thanks in advance.

My Warden guildy yesterday said she saw what appeared to be a decent pair of leather pants at the Jinisk merchant, but I didn't notice anything different, so I don't know.

I do know that the items I saw on the Jinisk merchant weren't very impressive, so I'm not going to worry about grinding my faction up with them.

Anyone know of a site with a good list of the new gear?

Thanks for the info. I haven't heard of the Jinisk camp(?) yet but I have only been through KP and Fens so far. I assume each of the 4 big zones has an NPC merchant that sells Legendary gear? I finally got enough favor with Bellywhumpers to see what they had to offer. Much fewer items than what TG had and seemingly on par with them. I only saw one decent piece I would consider there and it was a wrist or ring slot I think. It had quite a bit of +Deflection and +Parry on it. The price was steep at around 6pp-ish, however.

Yeah...I've checked a couple of the faction merchants and they seem to have twice as many items for sale as before. My templar bought some new plate pants with the Overloaded Heal proc from the Jinisk merchant. As a matter of fact, I got the discovery for it.

I'm going to have to go back to TG and check there as before, the leather gear favored healers rather than fighters. Maybe they have added some pieces that will be good for a Bruiser.

Can I safely assume also that as you go through the 4 main overland zones in RoK that the stuff the faction merchants sell gets progressively better compared tto the previous zone? Would it make sense to save my plat until I can get the stuff from Jarsaths rather than KP?

I saw a leather gi that I am pretty sure was added with this last patch on the Ry'Zilk's Renegades faction merchant in Kunzar today. As well as a nice roundshield for scouts on the Jinisk merchant.. finally .

I haven't gotten as far as Kunzar Jungle but perhaps the merchant in TG also now has a Gi. Thanks for the info.

I ran around finding all the new brawler gear today. The only issue I have is needing 40,000 faction to get any of this stuff, which for some of these factions will mean repeating a quest anywhere from 20-30 times. Ouch!Anyway heres my list (I forgot to write down names but they all start 'Centered ... of ...' All cost 6/7 plat and require 40,000 faction. All are level 72 equipable.Helm - Terens Grasp257 mit, 36 str, 25 sta, 100 HP, 100 Power, +1 deflection, Runic barrier (8% chance when taking damage to ward for about 280).Shoulders - Bathelzid (the sarnak in Fens of NathsarDidn't write this one down.Bracers - Riliss257 mit, 35 str, 25 stm, 15 agi, 105 HP, 105 Power, +5 deflection, +4 defense.Gloves - Exiles of Droga (goblins in Fens)257 mit, 32 str, 25 sta, 15 agi, 100 HP, 100 Power.Note: Compared to the other pieces the glvoes seem to be missing an effect/other bonus. Also the Droga have no repeatable quest for faction, you can only grind kills.Legs - Jinisk275 mit, 35 str, 30 sta, 15 agi, 115 HP, 105 Power, +3 crushing, +3 deflection, +1 attack speed, +1 double attackGi - Rythid's Renegades (the sarnak in Kunzar Jungle near Jinisk)275 mit, 36 str, 36 sta, 15 agi, 115 HP, 115 Power, +4 crushing, +1 attack speed, +1 melee critBoots - Also renegade camp257 mit, 35 str, 20 sta, 15 agi, 100 HP, 100 Power, +3 crushing, +4 deflection, +2 melee critAll in all very nice for the level. Given these items are filling in gaps left by quests I would like to see a slight reduction in the faction needed to buy them (down to 30,000 would be nice). There is also a set called battledruid, battleshaman and battlepriest for melee spec healers. The items are dotted around on various faction merchants though as far as I remember none of the Jasarth Wastes factions had any of the new items.

The items were put in from Fyreflyte because of the lack of healer-item that are not fury-based (leather with int/wis) and also the lack of brawler items from quests.

Sadly now you don't only have to pay for that, you also have to grind faction

I got at least a discovery for the battle-druid bracers in Rillis, and the legs in Jinisk (after grinding 20 tiger tasks *sigh*) .

Btw.: Has someone found the Battledruid Breastplate anywhere ?

Ahh .. and i also made a picture of the GI yesterday :

I appreciate the time you took to jot this all down. Maybe it was just me that was me in the dark but I wasn't aware there were complete sets filling each slot for the various classes. And now I understand that the pieces of a singular set are spread out amongst the various faction camps in each zone. It's also nice to know that if I buy the first piece (say at TG) that it won't later be replaced by a better piece at a faction camp in Kunzar or elsewhere.

Me, I'll probably just wait until I have gained 40k faction with all these camps and them buy the set at once unless I have gotten something better between now and then. To date, I am only part way through the quest lines in Fens.

Thanks again!

Only saw a simple "merchant", however i think he didn't wanted to talk with me, so i couldn't see what he is selling. That however means grinding over 30k faction i suspect

The battledruid set is nice for melee wardens, but considering it was done cause of a lack of items for melee specced priests, wouldnt it be a fair and nice thing to not have them cost 6 plat and 40,000 faction? like maybe 20k or 30k and 1 plat? Seriously they are there for peices being left out of YOUR loot tables after all....

At least giving the items to factions where you don't have to grind like crazy would have been nice

Is there a list somewhere of all the faction merchants and what they offer?

Is there a faction merchant for the Kunzar Villagers? Lots of quests for them for faction, but I have yet to find a merchant!
