Howdy, my friends and I just picked up eq2 and been having a blast playing...our group consist of Pally (myself), ranger, warden, conjurer. Well my quest is...as we hunted tonight the lvl 19 conj. pet kept taking agro from me, now i was pressing Inflame, Blinding Rays, and Bash just as fast as i could go and I just couldnt seem to get agro. Now the agro never left the pet or myself, so if it did leave the pet it was back on me. Am I missing something?Other thing just wondering how you guy might think that we did, we are all 17-19 and we were in The Firemyst Gully and we got the quest done and killed everything but the main boss Galintari the Apocryphal which we never even came close to be honest lol.Thank you guys/gals VERY much for your time and advice.

For the meantime make sure you are in offense mode with a 1 hander/shield have the warden toss his skill buff on you, the conjuror have his proc buff, and make sure your taunts/wards are upgraded. I know that at the level you are you may have a hard time justifying adept 3's but the less resists you have on taunts, plus the larger taunt/hate value, the better agro you will have. If the conjuror is still pulling agro he may want to try a different pet to lessen his agro. There is probably others with more info for that level, it has been ages since i was at the teens and i am sure there is much better gear out there with the expansions since then...

I too have been plagued with aggro troubles in the late teens and early 20's on my Pally. I am regularly playing with a Warlock and Inquisitor and we are all seasoned players (from early EQ to now). I have been playing my Fury since release and we all recently decided to start new toons. Trying to keep aggro on me feels pretty futile because I can only spam buttons so quickly. Even when I have thrown everything I have at a mob for the first 15% or so before the other players join in for DPS, that mob will still easily transfer hate.

Some things I KNOW I need to take care of to help the situation: some spell & gear upgrades. But even still, what's the deal with aggro? Does it get better with levels?

Thanks ...

At lower levels, aggro control is a little more difficult, cause while you get inflame, such as that.. its great for quick taunts, but you also have to keep in mind the pre battle buffs you use there, is unwaveringfaith,( or close to?) so as you buff your specific members of your group, that has a lot to do with how you keep that aggro in a fight, it was explained by these folks in here that damage = hate, as heals = hate also, so throwing out the undying conviction, blinding rays, toss in your heroic opportunity, strike (sword), and the other inflame and you should be fine hlding it..

We can do just about everything from dps, heal, ward, rez, AOE like crazy ect...ect...

It is always harder in the lower lvl's but trust me as you get higher you will have little trouble holding agro between your dps, amends, Sigil of Heroism, single target taunt, group taunt, your sheild bash, AOE's for crowd agro control and if you go down the STR aa line you get extra hate gain. Speel quality is also a must for taunts and that least and gear is important work on getting your STR up high so you do more damage.

And of course it does take time to learn your class really well.

Good Luck

Arther 77 Pally
