Important parts highlighted for quick read.We returned to the game recently after an extended absence. My husband is probably going to restart his Swashbuckler for several reasons. He loves the class, and it was always the class he would sneak off and play if I was busy doing things. I would like to make a character that I could duo with him. We both have several established characters, and I really don't want to play one of the classes I already have. I have not found a class that I do not find a way to really enjoy playing. So don't give me the play what you want answer, I just love playing.I am looking for a strong compliment, in other words, something that can strengthen him more than another class, or supplements him. Class side (evil/good/neutral) is unimportant to me. I would rather not play any Druid class unless it truly supplements his abilities more than any other. I don't need to be yet another Fury or Warden in the ocean of them, who has to compete for a raid slot at higher level. I already have a defiler, it happens to be my favorite class. I have a character who is in the process of betraying who will become a mystic, so would rather not make another. I also already have an inquisitor. I also play a monk just to get out of the healing role, and I kept my first character who is a low level paladin, who still has never done anything but craft in game... and then come out to RP some days. There is no dual boxing involved. I am a very experienced MMO player, as is he, and this is my all time favorite MMO for various reasons. We play on an RP server, I love RP, I love playing in groups and supplementing the community. I have looked at Templar, coercer, illusionist, and other support classes as options. Just trying to figure out what would be a strong duo with the swashie and not have problems finding a slot in a raid. I like complicated classes, but like it even more when my class and my husbands really compliment one another. I will happily play any of the 4 archetypes, just want ideas and why they compliment one another well because of CA, spells and AAs. I know people dual box healers with their characters, and some stick in a tank with a Swashie... I even saw the mention of a coercer because of their stuns. Someone mentioned I may want to try a warlock for the aoe. And another person said Conjurer, just because they love them. I am up for anything, but would like a reason other than cool factor to try it as the duo. Thought I would ask around here some. Thank you.

when I first started my swashbuckler I played with my roomate who rolled a dirge. It was an AMAZING duo because the dirge can boost the swashies DPS mod, his attack skills (slashing, piercing) and give him haste. Together you can get around quickly due to the dirge's run speed song. Eventually the dirge will even help the swash hold hate so that the duo can stay solid with the swash tanking (they are actually really good at it) and the dirge supporting without ever pulling aggro. As a swash I can say that I am never happier than when I play with either a dirge or a coercer, but mostly a dirge.

Illusionist has attack haste mod and Illusionary Arm-double attack mod. Coercer has DPS mod and hate x-fer. Coercer is the least played class WW. If you are raiding either of those are good, coercer is more of a MT group class than an illy and so is a swashy, but if you are in an OT group or melee dps than Illy is better, so far as i know anyway.

Firstly, thank you for a well constructed post, most people that want to know what combination to use use ask whats teh best duo with a swashy.Of the 4 classes you listed, the 2 healers ill have the least problems getting into raids, inqui probably the easiest unless the guild you raid with is short a defiler for their MT group.Monk and Pally will find a place on raids but you need to prove your ability, you need to be able to pump out massive DPS to maintain a spot or take a spot over another DPS class, the utility of these to classes is somewhat overlooked when it comes to a raid spot. Now having said you are experienced MMO player I would probably look at using the Monk, for the following reasons:1. Feign Death (needs no explanation)2. Very high avoidance, offensive, defensive and a combination stance, ie can go combination or defensive for harder mobs3. decent DPS output, can excel if played well4. no sharing of items with regard to armor and weapons5. brawler STR AA line is awesome, makes bare fists equal to fabled weapons with 96% double attack6. self heal for tight spots, long recast thoughHope this helps, you could also play a bruiser, bruiser a bit more offensive with higher DPS

Couple questions for you.Do you have any requirements for duoing? From reading your post I gathered the following information. You don't want to play a druid(too many of them) /defiler/mystic(already have or will have when you betray).I ask about requirements because that really changes the answer. If you want to be able to do heroic content as a duo (more pre RoK, not sure how much RoK heroic will be duo-able till folks get raid equipped etc. This impacts what will work.Swashy plus any healer is a very flexible/powerful combo and probably the best suited for being able to do the hardest stuff.Pali/swashy might work, you get some healing with pali, swashies debuff the damage beasties can do to you. Agro wont be an issue with pali amends.Swashy/illusionist as mentioned might be a fun combo, you won't be able to take on the toughest stuff, but with illusionists stifle/stun/daze inc damage is reduced. Mezz takes out adds. Mezzing in general though is counter productive as swashies are AoE dmg based. Illusionist have great buffs for swashy, Illusionary arm and haste. Normaly swashies don't need much haste buffing, but our haste proc dispells when we take dmg , so if tanking a haste buff is nice.I've two boxed with a dirge, (yes I know no 2 boxing allowed) and it works decently, damage is greatly buffed, a few debuffs to reduce dmg and an emergency life transfer (at the high lvls). Dirges seem to always be needed for raids, illusionists also in demand but to a lesser extent.Another potentially fun combo would be brigand. Brigands of course have dispatch , yay to that! They also have more stuns than the swashy, timing/synching up all the stuns and walk the plank (makes mob face away), means you might be able to keep the mob locked most of the fight. Downside is you both would want the same gear. Brigands are a must have for raids, though not sure of the demand.Any hoo some ideas.D
