Has anyone ran dps-parses on mage pet / scout pet and willing to share the numbers ?

I've seen posts where the scout pet outparses the mage pet, other posts claiming the mage pet is the one and only pet for dps'ing. As for now I only used my mage pet in groups and raids (mainly T7), but from what i hear, the T8 scout pet beats the mage pet in those two circumstances.

If dps between scout and mage pet is a status quo, then it would be logic to take the scout pet because of the higher hp (thus better surviving) ?

Thanx for any replies

Scout out-DPS the Mage in single target encounters every time, in exp

Mage out-DPS the Scout in multiple target encounters.Mage also has a small group healing component and buff that may be useful, but anything decently balanced raid would not need or have to rely on

Currently the T8 mage pet has issues which make it weaker than the T7 mage pet in some cases, and the RoK raids (at leat T1 and T2) are heavily single target encounter, which combined with the T8 mage pet issues has most using the scout for T8 raids.

That said, I parsed very well in EoF raid of emerald halls last week, which are green cons and multiple target more often.

Its ironic... in all of KoS I was pure scout... then in EoF I went pure mage... it appears the its scout time again, though T3/4 RoK raids, and fixing our mage pet may change that.

I used the scout pet with a scout spec last night for the first time in a T8 raid.

I was watching its hits. I would say that about a quarter to a 3rd of the time its attacks were missing. Granted, my pet is 78, and the mobs were 83. AND we didnt have a brigand with us. But I do seem to recall in T7 raiding my scout pet missing quite a bit in its attacks. Is this atypical? What about the WIS line? Is it worth going down that one? My mage pet never had any trouble landing hits without the WIS line.

So i understand it's circumstancial.

Do buffs from dirge and/or troubadour affect also pet dps ? If there's a dirge in the group, the scout pet would benefit from the melee/CA buffs. A troubie in the group would work greatly with mage pet ? or am I wrong here ?

To get the most out of your scout pet and avoid the missing problems you need1) AGI line 4/4/6/8/22) WIS line 4/4/6/83) Gravecalling: Enhance Assassin pet 5 pts4) Pacts Line: 20 pts + Blood Pact (for AOE immunity)5) any class in your group that can debuff the mobs defense, parry, block, riposte6) any class in your group that can enhance the offensive ability of group membersYes, the assassin pet does get all the benefits from group buffs to offensive capabilities and procs. Since many of the pet procs are noxious based any noxious debuffs will help, too. Remember to keep up Necromantic Brand, Rending Fervor, and Howl of the Damned (or their T8 upgrades). Get those to Adept III or better. Of course, having your pet at Adept III or better is a must.

Note, however that gear effects, procs, +dmg, +crit, -casting, etc (like the Rok stuff) do NOT apply to your pets (dumbfire nor main)
