Fairly simple, I never fully suited up in EoF and was wonders if the Mastercrafted (Devout... guessing) was worth the investment or will loot/quest drops quickly trivilize this gear... or should I just fo minw EoF for set gear?
if you trust the word of a paladin, I'd say go back and get your EoF stuff, it is slightly better than the t8 mastercrafted. Even better, if you can get in on a couple KoS raids and/or buy some tradeable fabled like the cuirass of shadowfire, you'll be even better off.If those aren't options, then the MC gear as a last resort would be ok, but don't expect it to work miracles.

I'd caution you not to make any judgements on tier 8 mastercrafted till post GU 41 as they are juicing all master crafted to be approppiate to its spot in the item hierarchy (->Handcrafted,Treasured,Mastercrafted,Legendary,Fabl ed->
they aren't touching mitigation which no matter how 'juicy' the stats become kills the set for me. Stats mean nothing if I can't take a hit.

The new improved T8 mastercraft is awsome for soloing/dps, it has combat art and spell damage on it as well as nice stats.
nothing about the armor is good for taking a hit, it's mitigation is absolute crap. Mitigation determines how hard something hits you. If you can't take a hit, then no stats in the world will save you, ask brawlers.

T8 MC needs MITIGATION! Can you say Mitigation .. good I knew you could. I may use it on a chain wearer .. but doubt it. All the bonuses to it don't mean beans if the mitigation is worse than t7 or t6. They are headed in the right direction but no mitigation means I won't buy it for my plate wearers. I will just run instances and hope for a spot in a raid.

I agree to an extent. The MC does need more Mitigation. But I still think for soloing the MC is better then the Kyle set. Though I doubt the Fabled set.

I'm using mix and match.

The lavaforged armour for appearance is pretty sweet too.

The 1% Shield Block on Hat/SHoulders of teh Vanguard is the only thing worth a [Removed for Content], it's probably worth upgrading from Bayle, but not much beyond that.

My mitigation loss was only 0.3% thanks to increased level of 72 vs 69 that it has so effective mitigation isn't too far off so that's great..

However, I got HUGE boost on CA damage and spell damage. Since I am human Cavalier means I get total 3 CAs more than any Sks who are not cavaliers. My lance/Joust and bayle strike (human trait) are mean now with nice +180 CA damage. My lance used to have 850 dmg DD with 165 DOT for 9 ticks for total 2335 damage. now It got improved to whopping 1085 dd with 173 DOT for 9 ticks for total 2642 with simple 4 gear changes.. My Bayle strike got big boost from 600ish damage to 850ish damage so it's nice.. So is Joust. I don't remember boost but got nice boost as well. Shield slam got good boost now close to 600 damage on T7 shield slam. Need upgrade to T8 heh. Too bad that my Trample is not working with CA damage hehe cuz it's melee damage based..

One thing I notice is that I lost lot of avoidance cuz my 4 gear had high agi/defense etc.. I wasn't able to take on several mobs at once like I used to be but I notice that they die faster than before tho means more dps but reduced defense.. But I thought of AWESOME leadership AA of +37 to all melee/magic skills along with cool human trait of +7 to all as well for total +42. I saw that it's too much against even con or less mobs so I switched to defensive stance to get my avoidance up once again and I was able to take on multi mobs like I used to be but little better! Since I got massive INT boost from 4 gear items so the loss of INT on offensive stance wasn't that much cuz of diminishing return but huge boost on defense side. One biggest ADVANTAGE of defensive vs offensive stance is that it WILL NOT affect my CA damage! My lance/joust/bayle/slam etc stays the exactly the same while my spell area got weakened like lifetap AE from 1900 dropped to 1700, etc. My offensive skill was too much but now back to 409 skill (still in green!) at lvl 78 even with offensive penalty from defensive stance and still can hit mobs very easily. If I fight against orange mobs, I simply switch to offensive stance.. Problem solved.

Defensive stance is now doing pretty great job for me especially with nice CA damages bonus but will need to work on INT try to hit 500+ once again even in defensive stance then I'm good to go.. I am at close to 400 INT even in defensive stance so not too far off.. Switching 3 more gears to replace EOF armor fully surely will bring my INt back up and my CAs will enjoy bigger boost but losing avoidances can be tough to bite. But I realize something.. I might can do it cuz defensive stance helps to cushion some avoidance loss and I get more INT out of those 3 gears to bring my INT closer to 500. .Hmm, maybe I should do that heh..

I used to have full str/sta/agi gear with lot of defensive to keep my avoidance at 40% in full offensive and it serves greatly and still enjoy 500 INT from that stance buff. With new T8 MC, it changes gear set up. I need str/sta/INT (not agi) and use defensive stance and leadership AA will support that penalty nicely then I'll be fine to handle many mobs at once.. Right now I am at 45% avoidance and mitigation is nice too close to 55% in defensive stance even with T8 MC 4 pieces!! Small loss in spell dps, no loss in CA but huge in mitigation/avoidance boost in defensive stance is pretty acceptable for me heh.

I had mostly EoF fabled and decided to try out the MC t8 gear on a hunch. I lost some mit (around 500 or so) but gained more balanced resists, some extra block, a bunch more +damage to CA (+350 or so), and more procs by switching to the MC gear. When looking at my stats, my mit vs mobs went down about 1% but my avoidance went up about 1%. Since it's so easy to hit diminishing returns with plate mit then I feel it's a lot more advantageous to lose a bit of mit and gain the +CA damage. On balance, it feels like I am just a tad squishier but the fights are much shorter. Besides, the MC armor set looks darn good. Majo, 73 Guardian for Shadow Guard, Venekor
