Best race for SK?

I was thinking of trying one and was wondering what's the best race for them?

This game is not weighted on character race whatsoever ..... you get MINOR abilities per race and a lot of them balance out almost the same... yeah a Gnome, Arasai, or Halfling Shadowknight doesn't make real sense... but in this game pretty much whatever your heart's desire...

<p>As Colcos said, racial benefits are really minor.  Any race will make a great SK.</p><p>If you want to split hairs and min/max to the extreme, here are a few things to consider: As a shadowknight, you do both melee (~30-40%) and spell damage (~50-60%), so racial benefits for either will help you.  You also happen to be a tank, so str/sta/health/avoidance/mitigation benefits will help you.  Finally, you do not get safe fall or any sort of sneak/invis as an SK, so perhaps you might want to make up for this with racial abilities?  You see, it all depends on what is most important to you particularly.  I prefer an offensive/dps role for my SK, so I focus on melee and spell damage buffs.  If you want to focus on tanking, you might want to look for something in that department.  Finally, maybe you want the extra convenience/utility that having invis or some sort of safe fall brings.</p><p>You can't really say which race offers the most until you decide what your priorities are.  For instance, dark elves and arasai give a lot of extra offense (fury of innoruuk) and utility (fae fall/featherfall), but nothing in the area of tanking benefits.  Ogres give a slew of tanking and melee benefits, but don't help you out much in utility or casting.  Sarnak give a decent mix, including improved taunts.  Yadda yadda...</p>

It's not just weapon skill boost. It also got spell skills boosts AND defense/deflection boost of 7 points. Very nice trait.. </p><p>Diplomacy is pretty interesting skill. It's semi-mezz. I could single pull one mob away from other mob very close to it without need of body pulling in sticky situation.. </p><p>Bayle's strike is decent added damage for CA.  As Cavalier, I got 2 new CAs, Joust (love it especially against ROK critters who tend to like to run away from me to cast from distance and my joust will teleport me right to it heh) and lance. Now I get Bayle's strike as another CA.   Melee crit will make it more attractive for me next to spell crit cuz it works on trample 40%.  I think human makes a nice Cavalier SK specialize in AGI line for added defense and offensive power in AE encounters..</p>

<p>I betrayed a High Elf because I liked my hair. But if I was rerolling from scratch, I'd go with Erudite as they have nice caster racials. SK's are pretty much casters in plate. They also have a bit of a decrepit look that goes well with the SK theme. </p>

Hehe I say anything you want to play. If I could do it over again I would go Ogre just for the intimidation factor the ogre has. Then maybe a Erudite for the are you sure I am as weak as I look thing.
