Hello everyone,

I play a level 76 Warden on Venekor (PVP), and while I have been levelling from 70, my stats have naturally started going up quite a lot. While selfbuffed and wearing my raidgear, I currently sit at 856 wisdom, which gives me a powerpool of about 7,2k.

My question is, is there a cap on stats - and if there is, what is it? It might be a hard cap, so after, say, 1200 wisdom you don't get any more power/resists out of it, or it might be a soft cap, so after a fixed amount it yields less power/resists.

The question is what amount I should be aiming for, in both raids and pvp. I've thought about getting some items adorned, but the way it's looking now it's not going to be with wisdom - maybe strength (seeing as I'm melee-specced), or stamina for that extra survivability. Or health. Or power. Or......

Your thoughts appreciated.

- Nillafurr

I've just read the following sentence here on the forum:

"The "cap" for all stats is (Level*15 +20) with diminishing returns at the higher levels (>600)."

So that means that the cap is (70*15)+20=1070.

BUT! Above is stated that you get diminishing returns at some point - surely it can't be at 600?

- Nillafurr.

There are 3 breakpoints when talking about stat caps.(7 x Level) +20 .. Up to this point, you don't see any diminishing gains.(10 x Level) + 20 .. from 7x to 10x, you start seeing some diminishing returns, but still get good returns on your increases.(15 x Level) + 20 .. from 10x to the hardcap of 15x, you start seeing aggressive diminishing returns on your increases.

Ive always heard it was 7.5 (or there abouts) your level .

And your ploting of the curve is very helpful .

Have you figured out the deal with spell resists & where the dimishing returns are for that?

I figured out it was 2.4 resists across the board to 1 wisdom point, except when you had a particular resist up high , then it would drop down to about 1:1 .... I never figured out the magic # on this one for the curve.

The changes to caps was at EoF launch. Patch notes detailing it are here:

http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=253135

I'm not sure where the information about the discrete breaking points at 10*level etc came from. First I've heard of it.

Its just so hard to find the info that im interested in between all the seemingly useless stuff ....lol

So let me see if ive got this right as far as the skill caps are concerned ... (my Hypothesis)

The maximum skill you can have(or get benefit from) is 6.5 times your level ... To a maximum benefit of 20% modification concerning hostile actions.

Each type of spell/CA carries its own modifier per rank , So it takes that number + the skill modifier to equal actual % less resisted. For Example " Our Master rank single target Root has a 21% less resisted, and if you had your subjugation skill at 455 lvl 70 , You would recieve a 41% modifier for it being less resisted.

So Im kinda wondering where the 0% modifier on skill is (guessing at 5 times your lvl being the one you get too without any modifications) And if your below that, then you recieve a -% modifier.

If it was plotted on a graph, ofcourse I think you would find it curving because of the diminishing returns rule ... Meaning you would probably see that last 1% modifier within your last 25 pts or so.

It probably has a similar curve to the one DrOctober was showing recieving most of the % benifit in the first half of the +skill from the 0% mark.

Thanx for bearing with me if youve read this far .....plz add any thoughts or comments

I'm wandering around in a mishmash of raid gear, RoK Treasured and a couple of KoS pieces and I sit at about 8900ish power self buffed at 74 (I think this counts food and drink...would have to look). But it's all for naught because I don't match

Thank you for plotting the curve, but it involves math...and now I have to retire for some hot chocolate because now my head hurts.

But in truth its not really that hard of a concept , Its more like im bad at explaining it , and you really dont give a crap.

I know you were in math class at one time, & you probably remember something like graphs with ploting lines ... I my self didnt give a crap till i found a real life use like this one ( gota luv a fantasy game being a real life use)

Here's a graph i threw together in mouse paint cuz, i suck at anything else , useing DrOctobers ruff calculations (cuz I didnt want to do all the actual ingame testing) Im sure the line is actually more curvy , but I got sick of trying to fudge it.

http://s199.photobucket.com/albums/...t=Statcurve.jpg

PS: Oh ya , I forgot to do the +20 thing with X factor ... so dont forget to add that if you want to plot your pwr amount. And also remember ... Your not insane if you hear voices , only if you awnser back.

I kid. I am an Excel Goddess.

Of course I know what a curve is. And you are right. It DOESN'T match my earrings...but I truly DO care about it.

Seriously.

LoL , what are you doing up so late? ... and "Ha" I knew you just had an image to keep up with.

My comment about you not giving a crap was more to demonstrate a point about things are more easily understood when you have an intrest. Not that i was saying your Callus in anyway, except maybe with your pets ... lol
