I think yeah take some time off, play some other games.
I finally got bored enough with dead populations on my server and leveling 1 to many times. I ended up taking about 6 months off. lol then when I felt like playing came back, guild was dead and most of my friends had abandoned ship to be among fellow humans online. But taking time off works. I deleted a couple of my high level toons, rerolled on a living server and now its interesting again.

I personally found the character that I love to play and I don't care if I am in my house reading books in my study, out doing grey quests, doing a quick raid or exploring...I always enjoy playing.

In my opinion the game falls flat with pve combat. As I've expressed before, all monsters have the same ai and behavior in combat, all monsters are pulled and fought in the same way, even bosses. pull, tank maintain aggro, healer heals, avoid adds. 70+ Kunark content has more advanced ai scripts now for monsters, hopefully they do more with this though.

I am also an alt fiend, not because I don't love my monk, but because I enjoy approaching the game from differnent directions (and anyway, everyone needs 9 crafters, right?).

I do get tired of EQ2 every once in a while and wander off to other games; however, I do keep coming back. This started back in EQ days when I would drift off to try DAoC or other games, and has continued with a couple of breaks for games like pre-NGE SWG (mourn), VG, LotRo, WoW, EVE, etc. I have probably played EQ2 3/4ths of the time since release.

I don't think it has anything to do with EQ2 (it is the game I keep coming back to, after all). Rather, I think at some point, I just need a change of pace. No matter how good the game, if I don't have things to keep it fresh (be that new challenges, an active guild with lively chat during my play time, or a series of goals that keep me going), I just need to try something new and different for a bit.

If you are playing 3-4 hours a day on that one character, I can understand that you hit a wall and are ready to say "no more!" It is probably time to do something else for a while (like re-read the Hornblower series or play entirely different game such as EVE or reintroduce yourself to your family); EQ2 will be here when you get back.

Then when your ready come back to it, make sure you get a few of your online buddies to help you get back into the game.

My advice go play another MMO, for a month or two, then come back, you will notice how "varied" a game we have then
Myself i've syet to be bored by EQ2 even though at the present time i find RoK more than a little lacking for me personally it got even better for me when my wife jumped off the WOW bandwagon and saw the light over here having her with me has reopened the game again for me

Take time off from the game completely, or take up a tradeskill (if you haven't already).

Try starting a character on a different server. If you are on PvP, try PvE. If you are doing PvE, try PvP. If you have been locking and doing endless content at the same tier, don't lock this time and just play the levels as they come. You don't have to do every quest. Don't try to max your AAs by level 22, they will come no matter what you do.On a new server, you don't have any support/resources so it can be a new experience. Quests sometimes are more interesting if you can actually use the reward (which can be the case if you haven't bought full gear with money provided from other characters). If you have no more slots, try switching to the european servers (or US ones if you are in europe) or the test server. I believe you get separate slots for each set of servers.Your regular characters will still be there when you are ready to come back to them. On the other hand, maybe you will find yourself more at home at your new server and want to stay.

It gets old for me from time to time. This weekend I went from 29 to 35 in EL and RE. I had a good time, but towards the end i was getting pretty burnt out. But this week my wife went to visit family 3 hours away so I am home alone, for 7 freaking days! WOO, maybe i can be 45 by the time she gets back. Too bad work gets in the way, and i have to work 6 of the 7 days she is gone.

This is why I have the station Access. When I am a little bored of EQ2 I can log into EQ1, SWG,VG,MXO or even Pirate sof the burning sea (In beta but is part of the access).

I only dabble in these games but they make nice diversions when i am not in the mood for EQ2 and all at one price.

I, like others come from WoW. Therfore when i started this game, it was hard for me to erase everything that I once expected in a MMO, but ever since i did, i now take it slow and enjoy everything about the game instead of just lvling up. i now take time to enjoy the environment around me.

But I have to work

so I don't get the chance to see if I could handle it.

I'm not tired of it and it's been almost a year now. I have the $29.99 version so that's a few alts not to mention EQ and Vanguard

Oh and I did what one of the previous posters stated - I am on the EU server also. It is different without the help of my higher level toons.

To me there is a lot of variety and I find so many places I missed the first time through the lower levels.

I do that once or twice a year on any mmo. I have played EQ since the day of launch. I am new to EQ2 but I when EQ would feel like more work than fun I would take a month off and play a consol game or spend a month getting caught up on books I wanted to read. We all need a break on occassion. Take a break and come back refreshed

after a few years, with a few breaks...I still love this game much more than I do other games.

Breaks are needed though, anything to excess is bad for your brain.

I don't have the temperament for PvP, so PVE is "it" for me. Questing, good; crafting, great. But the PVE mob combat AI is 99.9% predictable so far (I'm level 50, 65 AAs, 450+ quests). My guildies tell me PVE gets more challenging at 65+... but sheesh, long grind to get to the good stuff.

Unlock and level up. Your highest toon is 25, and that's the Warden. You've been PvPing in the same area waaaaay too long; no wonder you're burnt out. Wardens are a blast, but they don't truly come into their own until the 30's. Sure, they may be overpowered in T2, and low-end T3, but they don't really stand out until a little higher. Or try another class and play him straight through. You'll still get AP's, and you'll notice that they do catch up with you.

Everyone Enjoys different aspects. I like killing a mob and it pooping out a chest. You may enjoy the L&L and such, but I don't. I want to drench the ground with the blood of my foes! I hate crafting, I hate reading in a video game. I have been playing maybe a total of a month. I played some, quit, played some more, quit, and now I am back so probably had an active account a month altogether and I am 36, plan on being 40 here in the next 2 days.
