I'm returning after almost a year off, and I have reinstalled EQ. I seem to be having the same problem. The game will start to download, then I will do something else. But when I come back it always says, download cancelled. This has happened about 4 times. Which at most times would not bug me too much. However when the downloader is saying that I still have 23 hours to go, it can start to wear on a person a bit.

Wow, there's so many people this is happening to now. I've been going through every possible solution since that stupid PATCH on Dec 6th. But after two days and over two hours on the phone with tech support and messaging and emails back and forth it still won't work. This sounds like a bigger problem and could be a possible bug with the patch update. I don't know how any of us could fix it but I think if enough people complain it will be recognized. So let SOE hear about this and just hope they get up and fix it soon because I'm paying for nothing here!

Hey when you say you can play by using the eq.exe what exactly does that mean? I want to try.

Finally got mine working, after about 50 downloads cancelled. Now just need to figure out what server to start on. Have 30 mins left.

For those running Vista:1 Go to the Everquest 2 file directory and find these 2 file: EQ2 (EQ2Launcher) Everquest2 (EQ2 Client Application)For both of these files, go to the properties and check the box "Run in Administrator Mode"Hope this helps.

I had the same problem this morning. I searched in the Help section of Sony Station and this is what I came up with. First, right click the EQ2 start icon, go to compatibility mode and check 'Run in XP compatilbility mode' or something like that. Then, check run as administrator. Once I did that, all the patches downloaded and I was able to play. Hope this helps.
