I have started to play EQ2 again and i was wondering if anyone would know if my old characters i had about 2 years ago would still be in the game. Unfortunately i couldn't remember my old login and password so i started a new one and know i would love to see if my old stuff is still available and how i would go about retrieving it and getting them over to my server. thanks for any help you can provide.

When I came back to the game after an over 2 year break every single character and item was in it's original form and server. Should try and remember that login info, you get your old account veteran rewards!

You would need to know your old account information in order to be able to see the stuff.

You could try looking for your characters on EQ2 Players. I know I can find people who haven't played in ages (though I can't be sure their accounts are inactive).

Unfortunately you are in somewhat of a financial bind since you applied the newly bought software to your new account.

If you petition SOE with enough info, they should be able to mail to the email account associated with the old account the info needed to log in again. However, if you want to activate the account, you will need to at least pay for a month and, if you want to upgrade the account to RoK, buy another copy of the software (for the key). If you never deleted the EQ2 software, you might find a file named <station name>_characters.ini in the EQ2 directory and that should be enough for them, otherwise, they might be able to track things from your registration info or maybe from an old forum post if you could search and find one you made.

You could avoid the second software purchase if all you want to do is copy the characters over to your new account (at $50 a piece, IIRC), but you would loose any accumulated veteran's rewards on that account.

Oh, and by the way if you also want to move the characters to a new server, thats another $50 a peice.

If you think the 2 characters are worth saving and if you haven't invested much time in the characters on the new account, what I would do is just abandon the second account after getting access to the first.

Although it is not promised, but Sony never deletes characters and account information, even if you don't use it anymore
