I've trawled through the posts, I have to say props to the community alot of very useful information here to a new player such as myself.

I'm working on increasing my in-game wealth so that I can eventually afford some of the higher cost items that you see floating around (master spells, etc). The main reason is due to the fact that I'm on a PvP server which is what I'm after from game content, but naturally need to have as much top end gear as possible to be able to compete more effectively.

Here's the question - I've heard rumours that there's an "item" available that when equipped increases the %'age chance of a rare being harvested, by approximately 5%.

Does anyone know if this is the case please? If so, would anyone be willing to advise where it's obtainable from, I would assume could be a pretty well sought after item ..!

Yours Lovingly,Daworf

Are you thinking of Tinkered Harvesting tools? They can give you a better chance of getting into the rares table if I understand it correctly, because they increase your harvesting skill. You might be interested in reading these two posts by DominoDev which has some useful information. http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...post_id=4219978http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...post_id=4255316The tinkered tools are available on the broker but you can only use them if you are of the appropriate crafting level (not adventure). I think there are three sets, miscalibrated, calibrated and overclocked which are for three different crafter levels. There are three in each set, the Shears are for Gathering and Foresting, the Pick is for mining, and the Water-Safe Net is for Fishing and Trapping. I'm not sure if there are any Tier 8 ones yet since I haven't checked.
Upgraded dwarven work boots have skill boosts also.

The tinkered once are different from those.

The Boots are quite highlevel, they come from the endmob in Unrest, a T7 groupdungeon. Harvesting tools themselves do not increase your chance of getting a rare. Because they increase your speed, you have a better chance of harvesting more nodes in a harvesting session, and therefore getting more rares. The tinkered tools do increase your skill. There is a skill-over-trivial point where the odds of getting a rare get better if you're a certain amount over the point for that Tier, but you're looking at a pretty limited set of circumstances where that'll work for you when harvesting tiers below your skill point.
