View Full Version : shroud of armour causing agro transfer.... again fix please

<p>as the title says we are back with shroud of armour (well that line anyway) causing agro again, if anything casts (not mellee just spells) on your friendly brawler when you have this buff up and they then fiegn death = dead defiler. tested about 50 times certain mobs it happens everytime as they cast auto as soon as they are agroed. even if u dont fd and dont preward the adds will tend to come right for the defiler.... again</p><p>the same type of bug was present for over a year (back in the pre DoF days) its hard to understand how its been let back in again please get it fixed, i dont mind dying repeatdly to challenge but not this kind of bs and remembering to take it off and recast every time my brawler goes to pull is just a pita</p>

to be honest, I don't see this as a bug. That spell has a ward attached to it that is preventing dmg. It's the same thing if a cleric casted a reactive heal and it triggered, or we casted a ward and it absorbed dmg. As soon as that happens, the aggro transfers to us as it should.As long as the brawler FD's before any dmg is taken then you don't pull aggro. If you are trying to pull 1 specific mob and FD the rest off, drop your buff.

<p>well its was a bug last time it came into the game and was fixed, so my guess is its a bug now. </p><p>as to your comments about pulling, your missing the point, some mobs cast instantly the moment they are agroed, what would be the point in fd'ing before you agro adds, the whole point of fd pulling is to cancel the pull when you have adds, if you havnt agroed any yet you would just pull the single.</p><p>its the same as a reactive or a ward? er no its not its a group buff using a conc slot, that for 80% of the time sionce game launch has not caused agro to be passed to the defiler but now does</p><p>as is often the case it easy to say "its a small matter it isnt a bug" when it doesnt effect your own play style, well for me as someone that duo's almost 50% of the time trying to push my duo to take out the hardest mobs i possibly can its a huge frustration to be dying even more than i was anyway, with new tougher content</p>

<p>Sony seems to be huge on copy and paste. Not that I blame them. Why recreate the spell when you can copy it and change a few numbers. One thing they are HORRIBLE at however is checking to see if what they created - spell/quest you name it - has been changed. So every time we have an expansion or change something in the game we have the same problem occurring over and over and over. They just patch in the last version of the spell without bothering to investigate if this spell has been changed over time. </p><p> I agree it is frustrating</p>

<p>I find the flipflopping ward amount much more annoying than the agro</p>

I don't seem to have a problem with it getting me aggro, at least not that I have noticed, but I do have the problem with the AA upgrade amount dropping off every time I zone. That is a bigger issue IMO.

What the hell is wrong with you guys? This isn't a bug. Shroud isn't broken.Think about it, like cggerth said, it's a freaking ward. And no, it was never fixed. it's always done this. I had a brawler friend train me all over SoS for claymore updates back in the day, and if I didn't take Shroud off, I died. Same [Removed for Content] in EoF...I could be AFK in MMCC and if the tank body pulled and didn;t taunt fast enough, I'd get smacked. But it's the same as prewarding. Are the normal defiler wards bugged because they draw aggression? uhh...no, they aren't. Shroud has a ward component, that's what causes the aggro. This isn't something new.If a brawler is training you, have them cancel Shroud on themselves, or just cancel it yourself. big deal.

I happen to know the history of this spell and that it indeed did NOT generate aggro for a long time. At the start of eq2 it drew aggro, then they changed it. Now it is drawing aggro again. </p><p>If they did change it they should have put that they did in a patch message. Otherwise I am going to continue to think this is a bug that occurred with ROK. </p>

<p>Gaining aggro from this spell makes sense, I think the problem is it's too much aggro. It seems that if one person is hit with a spell we gain aggro as if everyone's ward was hit.</p><p> The real issue with this spell line is that the ward is not regenerating to the full amount when you level past 70. The max ward amount scales with level, but once the ward is drained it regens to maybe 80% of the max amount. This was true of the T6 master as well as the t8 ad3.</p>

<p>I've definately noticed the change in Shroud of Armor over the last few weeks. If it's a bug or not I'm not sure. It's a relatively quick cast though so I have not been putting it on immediately but instead have been casting it on the MT after he has agro (this is in Raid, in grp's the mob's don't usually last that long).</p><p>If it is a bug it'd be great to have a fix though.</p><p>Cheers and Beers</p>

<p>The reason why this spell shouldnt have aggro attached to it is very simple. Other priests have a mitigiation buff that do dont have wards...templars for instance have one that gives +mitigation and health. Defilers give mitigation + a small regen'ing ward. In the "Balance" of things how is fair for us to get aggro off a buff that other priests dont. Would you want to strip a tanks mit over issues with aggro when other priests dont have that problem? Why go thru the problems if defilers cause more issues....get a different healer. </p><p> Grand scheme of things the buff shouldnt have aggro generated from it at all. Prewarding should be the only thing that generates hate, not something that we have no DIRECT control over like a sustained buff that is always up.</p>

Yah this is rediculous. Please fix this. My boyfriend is a defiler, me Brigand. All of a sudden he has this [Removed for Content] amount of aggro when I pull, no wards pre pull sometimes too.
