View Full Version : Any way to tell if +spell dmg is working?
Title says it.. I just updated my equipment for RoK and have a +180 spell damage bonus. I headed to KP an attacked a mob using my lvl 1 spells that do 11-19 dmg and I did a crit for 21... seems like I should have done close to 200 dmg shouldnt I? How can we tell if this system is working?

You can only have +spell damage up to a maximum of 50% of the spells max damage..

I think, its something like that anyhow so if you had a 100 damage spell, you could add 50+ damage also dots and aoe's etc dont get full benefit..

mouse over the spells with and without the gear on, the numbers change.

That is not very accurate however, as adding on int gear will also change the dmg of a spell, but I guess it gives a rough idea.

I asked this in an old guild forum, apparently the full +dmg is added for solo dmg spells, /4 for encounter/aoe dmg spells and /8 for dots spells. (or /2 and /4, one of the two, but think its the first!).

edit for clarity.

I have some items that are +wis or no stat bonuses.. Took them off and checked the spells. High level spells had the change applied when I re-equiped them but my little low level test spells did not. Perhaps its also limited by the level of the spell. Having over +200 spell damage should be nice once I get a chance to actually use it.

Thanks for the help
