Well, after much contemplation, I have made the arduous journey from a Fury to a Warden. Actually, it had more to do with need in Guild Raids, and me wanting a change. Anyway, any advise for a new convert. I mainly group and raid with this toon, but I would like to be able to go back to PvP. I am currently STR, AGI and STA lines, and on the Warden tree I have changed my spells to melee. Think I've also added to my Bat and something else. Now I just need to build up my skills, think my crushing is half of what it should be. As a Fury, I never had a reason to melee. From reading some of the forums I see I'm going to have to get some STR gear. Anyway, I know there are a lot of really good PvP wardens out there and any advise you can give, including some of the tricks of the trade. I have discovered in the few 1v1's or 1v2's I am able to last about 30 seconds longer than I was as a Fury, but in the end it's turfburger time. Hopefully soon I will be able to get back to winning some fights. I miss my t3-t4 times as a Fury.I could also use some tips on being a Raid warden since this is what I will do mostly, so you non-pvpers can really help me here. I'm thinking I should have the Cure Line maxed in Warden. Anyway, thanks in advance for any advice rendered. Not sure why my sig won't switch back, this is Llishia 72 Warden (almost put Fury).

/Warm Smile...and welcome to The Pack! Glad you heard the voice of reason and decided to do the Right Thing.

I think your AA setup of STR, AGI, STA is perfect - both for raiding and for PvP. If you are primarily going to be a Raid Warden, the advice is generally to not spec Melee - or if you do, make sure that you have 2 sets of gear for maxing the stats you need. Make sure your nukes are the best quality they can be, and have them hotbarred as well as your CAs. What I'm trying to say is: On a raid, a Warden is primarily a healer, and your focus for choices should reflect that first. Everything else is nice, but not the main reason you are there.

Gitana and others can tell you how to raid a melee warden, but my experience is to max out heals, buffs and gear with heal procs. To me, swapping back and forth gear is just annoying...but you might not have a problem with it. To swap out gear on the fly while PvPing is really not my idea of a good time. To me, trying to switch back and forth is schizophrenic, but Skiveley is already hearing voices...so he might be able to give you some pointers.

As for AAs...as long as you have Spores, Bat, Roots, Wolf and Runspeed maxed, and you aren't spec'ing melee, I kind of agree to go down the Cure Line. It's kind of nice, although a bit weak in places, but that's not to say it won't ever change. For a raiding Warden, special attention should be placed on all the defensive things that Wardens do - that makes us different than Furies in a raid.

You can last longer than a Fury in pvp because you have a Mit buff now that you didn't have before. If you have put AA into it, it's as much as 50% - and if you have it at M1 or M2 quality AND beefed up with AA's...you are able to take a nice hit or 2. Since (as you know) the idea is to kill the healer first in a PvP encounter - if you are grouped, just make sure you don't die...heal yourself first using your group heals a lot for the rest of the folks you are with. You'll like Warden group heals a lot in PvP, I think. While they are busy trying to kill the New Improved Harder to Kill You (tm), they will be open and vulnerable to the rest of your group.

If you are solo pvping and they are melee, pop Sandstorm (Duststorm, Gale..you don't say what level you are)...make sure that spikes, spores and Primitive Instinct are on you...and let them kill themselves beating on you while you heal. Cast Wolves every so often to [Removed for Content] them off (it's a dot they may/may not be able to cure, but it will keep a class that has high damage CAs that can only be cast invis'd ...from being able to invis' to use them. Really makes em mad)

Pop the Tree if you have to - or plant it right on top of the Ranger  For raiding, healing will be sort of similar to Fury...'layer' your heals to get the maximum you can out of the HoT component.

These are just off the top of my head...I'm sure everyone else will come up with more.

I'm Dreadnaught Ariel Demoras on Venekor (70th Dark Elf Warden), and Avielle on Antonia Bayle

Thank you both very much. I didn't put my lvl up at first cause I thought my Sig would cover it, but for whatever reason it would not switch back. It's up there now though. We're still raiding KoS and EoF content and it will be a while before we get to RoK. I have done the new fangled gear switchie thingie with my Ranger, I will have to see what kinda gear I end up with. I lost 5 pieces of Relic gear in the switch wish I had thought of that before I did it. I'm looking forward to the challenge, you all reminded me of a couple spells I don't have on my hotbar, my wolves and duststorm. Think I get Gale soon too. Has anyone heard when they are gonna give us our boxes that let us switch AA? I saw them on Beta but I have not seen any on live. Maybe I just missed out on how to get them.
