So I've recently rolled a new swashie and love it so far, but wanted to make sure I understand some things before I got to far along:

1) Is it true haste items do not stack? Do items that improve crit and double attack chance stack?

2) I read that some poisons stack, can someone explain this since I'm currently only using one kind?

3) There is a lot of talk about using higher delay weapons, what is the benefit of this?

Think that's about it, thanks to any who can offer advice.

first off, welcome to the swash class.1.) haste items im not sure on, ive never had one personally (since im a slacker), as for double attack and crit, they do stack.2.)you can have 1 red poison, 1 blue poison, and 1 purple poison up at once. red poisons do damage, like DD, DoT, or lifetap. blue poisons do secondary effects like agro redux, snare, or stun. purple poisons are stat/mod debuffs. 3.) the benefit of higher delay weapons is that they tend to have much higher damage, plus you can use combat arts in between swings to minimize lost dps.

Good responses thus far. To add a bit:

1) Items whose effect is labeled "Haste" will not stack with other items with effects also titled "Haste". As long as the effects are not labeled alike they will stack.

2) Another point to remember about poisons: if you regularly group with other scouts or raid, coordinate to compliment your poisons. i.e. if your assassin friend is using a WIS debuff purple poison, be sure to use a STR debuff purple poison

3) The optimal delay of the weapons you use depends on your AA spec and combat rhythm. If you are a dual wielder, 4-6s delay weapons will probably not do much for you. If you have spec'd in the WIS line and use a single 1h or have geared yourself heavily toward DA then sure, have a look at some longer delay weapons. Just remember to consider more than just the delay. A high min:max damage spread will produce huge crits. Just be sure that you feel comfortable with the timing of your auto attack to squeeze your combat arts in without interrupting the default swing.
