Am i the only person who belives thats this is perhaps the worst spell for a dps class yet? anyone got any strats or is it like giving an assasin a passive 50% increased hate gain?

Yes, you are the only person who thinks that.

Now as to why. The fact that you say that bruisers are a DPS class, leads me to believe that you do not tank. If that is the case, simply don't use the spell. Unlike if you were to give an assasin innate 50% hate gain, they wouldn't have the option to "Not use it", so your comparison is not very good.

Believe it or not, there are many bruisers who do tank. I am one. We are, after all, fighters by archetype. We have taunts, we have rescue, and have a few other nice tanking utilities available to us, such as Drag. When I tank, I use this ability all the time, especially on solo mobs, because it is much like an extra Rescue, on a faster recast.

Though you may not like the spell, you have the option of not using it. Just know that there are those of us who have a use for it.

Far be it for me to argue with an eq2flames regular, as I dare say you've seen more endgame content than I.. but for the sake of clarity, can I assume you are talking about epics here? Because if you're losing aggro that often on single target heroics, I would gently suggest that you have words with your over-enthusiastic dpsers!

It's still a stupid ability and yes, it equates to more deaths.Jump on the tank wagon all you want, we wear track suits into battle.. Getting a bunch of heroics jump you in a raid environment usually ends up putting a strain on healers or getting you killed. Unless of course you go all your fights wearing your tanking gear (now that we can't switch), in which case your dps suffers.
